I think we had Manwich twice growing up, but I prefer my mom's very simple recipe:

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
1 green pepper diced
1.5 TB white vinegar
1.5 TB brown sugar
1.5 TB prepared yellow mustard
3/4 cup ketchup
s & p to taste

Brown the beef with the onion and pepper, add in the other ingredients and simmer for at least 15 mins.

Haven't had it in years - I voted 'it's edible', but I haven't really even thought about sloppy joes in a long time.

We love it. We probably have Manwich for dinner at least twice a month. It's so quick and easy.

I don’t like Manwich. I make a very basic homemade sloppy joe, with ground beef, onions, tomato paste, water and chili powder. I don’t like sweet pepper, and there is too much vinegar for my liking, so no Manwich for me.

I just use BBQ sauce the few times I have made Sloppy Joes at home.
I think of Sloppy Joes as school lunch food.

We just use ground beef, cook and drain it and then add Kraft original BBQ sauce. I cook it until it kind of caramelizes.

❤️ it, but prefer the Not so Sloppy Joe sauce, it’s thicker. But I think still made by Manwich? I make Sloppy Joes quite often in the summer, along with potato salad, macaroni salad and fresh fruit salad.

It's not that I dislike them, but I rarely eat sloppy joes. Actually, as a kid we never had them and I didn't even know what my friends were talking about for a long time. It's not something I would make for myself at all either, but if I did Manwich is a perfectly fine choice.

I said its edible. We eat it maybe once a year and we sort of doctor it up with worcestershire sauce and mustard. We used to make it from scratch with just hamburger, ws, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic salt, tomato paste and onions.

I like it well enough to use if I don't have homemade chili sauce to use as a starter. Homemade is better, of course, but Manwich Bold is fine in a pinch. All three of my kids like sloppy joes, or sloppy joe meat on a loaded baked potato, so I do make it fairly regularly as a low-effort dinner.

Never eaten Manwich. Funny thing is that we are having sloppy joes tonight for dinner. They were on the menu before your poll! I always just make them myself (we don't care for chunks of onions or peppers).

Love Sloppy Joes. Manwich is garbage. I said "It's edible" because it's not gross, just even in processed form, there are a lot better sloppy joe sauces out there.

(ex)Wife made sloppy joes once and they were the best. Problem is, she just threw stuff together and I don't know what she did to replicate them. She doesn't know either, just threw it all together. Lots of Worchestershire sauce, I do know that.

Most of what we ate married was homemade as is today by myself. I don't use bottled or canned stuff too often. My next thing is to come up with a thousand island dressing that matches Ken's Steakhouse. Love the stuff, but I would rather make homemade and eliminate all the garbage they put in commercially produced foods.

No Manwich stuff.... !!
Easy dinner is to throw it all together:
ground beef
chopped onion
chopped bell peppers (red, green, yellow)
1 can petite diced tomatoes
various spices: smoked paprika, tumeric, cumin, etc.
add some smoky BBQ sauce

....cook it all down 30-45 minutes or so and add apple cider vinegar as needed......

(I think this is all... I kind of "wing it" )

We like sloppy joes but very rarely eat any prepackaged or canned foods. The recipe I make at least for the last few years is Ree Drummond's sloppy joes. We sometimes substitute ground turkey for the ground beef and it's still yummy.

I think my favorite is the McCormick mix in the envelope, but Manwich works just fine.

It's really weird because when I was a kid I absolutely hated sloppy joes. I would not eat them. Although I do not have them often now, I really like them.
