My family loves them ! I add little extra sugar & vinegar to them - I only buy regular flavor
I am not huge fan of loose meat sandwiches but will eat these - we have them about every two months
They must be popular as it’s often out of stock at the store for regular flavor and this was long before Covid shortages
I was very surprised the last time I purchased it to see how many different flavors you could get / although I’m not interested in trying them
Good luck with the game !!!! I hope they win !!!![]()
Thank you my friend!

I really like Manwich, but DH does not, so I don't make it anymore. He thinks it's too sweet. I do occasionally make Sloppy Joes from scratch. I heavily modified recipe from a 1950s Slovak-American cookbook that my grandmother used. Basically, I cut out the sweetness and made it more savory for DH.
"Barbecued Beef on Bun " Original Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 large chopped onion
1 chopped bell pepper
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup catsup
"Barbecued Beef on Bun " Modified Ingredients for Picky Husbands
1 lb ground beef
1 large chopped onion
1 chopped bell pepper
1 sticks chopped celery
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon vinegar
3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 8 oz can of tomato sauce
Brown meat. Combine and then add the remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Serve on toasted bun.

I picked other. Not sure if we've had that in the past. We did used to have Sloppy Joe's years back, maybe when the kids were still here, but I think (pretty sure) that Marie always made it scratch. I don't think she used store bought. But, in any case, have not had for quite a few years that I can recall.
Good luck for Katie and her team tonight, as well as for her upcoming graduation. Congratulations to her, and you guys also.
Thank you very much Dan!

I think we had Manwich twice growing up, but I prefer my mom's very simple recipe:
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
1 green pepper diced
1.5 TB white vinegar
1.5 TB brown sugar
1.5 TB prepared yellow mustard
3/4 cup ketchup
s & p to taste
Brown the beef with the onion and pepper, add in the other ingredients and simmer for at least 15 mins.

We love Manwich at our house. We probably have sloppy joes and tater tots several times a year. Very timely post as I recently saved a recipe which I’ve attached here.
