Thanks for asking Dan - it was a rough and scary night. We had constant tornado sirens for an hour - very unsettling. We did have some BIG wind that made me very nervous about some trees, of which I still need to check on in an area I can’t see from the house.
Good to hear you guys are okay, Sandy. Scary evening.
It was tough. Marie and I were hunkered down in hallway off below grade family room. Rain, wind, sirens here also. But we're okay. Natalie, next town over, is okay. Vince was on shift, probably working hard during the storms. Will find out later. They had 83 mph winds out where he lives.
We're in Naperville-horrendous storms Sunday that left us with at its height 3 feet of water in the basement. What a mess.Dumpster coming on Wednesday-fan and dehumifier working overtime.
I voted no. I am a dinosaur and try buying local first so Amazon is my option of last resort. And at my age, I have everything I want, and only buy things when a need comes up, so no list on Amazon, no window shopping. I've got too much stuff already.
I’m usually a maybe, since it’s rare that I need anything, and it’s often just if I see something good. This year, DD17 has a bunch of stuff that she needs for her college dorm. I had her fill the car with everything of interest and take screenshots of pre-Prime Days pricing…since I’ve seen sketchy pricing games in the past. I can see she’s already ordered five things and has three left in the cart that she’s still watching.
We’ll see. I’ve got things in my cart that are not necessities but if they go on sale, I’ll probably buy them. I just did an order of fairly big-ticket items three weeks ago that unfortunately couldn’t wait.
Don't really need anything so no plans to shop during this 'sale'. When I do shop, I look around on various websites to compare prices. Walmart often has the same item as Amazon for a lower price.
I'm buying during Prime, although I don't usually wait specifically for this sale. Just happen to be making a long weekend camping at the beach this weekend so there were a few things I was going to need anyway ...so it worked out!
I did buy a waterpik. My old one been a little wonky for the last six months. But Amazon had it at 50% off, $49.99. Went to waterpik main site. Listed as$99.99. Ohhhh. Ahhhhhh. Then I checked Walmart, Kohl’s, target, they all had the same unit for under $60. So I saved a bit, but not 50% as Amazon would like you to believe.
First thing I have done is look at my "shopping" list and it is quite humorous.
A blouse, I checked yesterday, is now a PRIME DEAL with the same exact price it has been. And most of the items on my list now PRIME DEAL are the same price they had been or maybe 50 cents off. Clearly they raised some prices to show a slashed price on the items bringing them right back to the price prior. One item was marked up so they could PRIME DEAL mark it down but it is now more expensive than it was prior.
There are a couple that are a deal, one is a light fixture they dropped 20%. SO .... we'll see if I buy anything.
I had New Balance sneakers in my cart. They dropped $30 today (almost half off), so I bought them.
I also got 2 gift cards.
Unless kids also need sneakers, that's probably my shopping for today's Prime Day.
I have been wanting a blender and have several in my cart. The one I have has a lid that jams and won’t lock so I can turn it on. Was hoping for prime day deals but the price is the same. I like to make my own hummus and pesto so I may go ahead anyway.
Also was thinking about a better vacuum for the office. The one we have is lousy. Deals aren’t good enough on those for me to actually do it.
