I bought a new mousepad and a Foder's travel guide book for Turkey but I was going to buy those things regardless. I have a free trial for Prime so that's why I got them on Amazon.

We're in Naperville-horrendous storms Sunday that left us with at its height 3 feet of water in the basement. What a mess.Dumpster coming on Wednesday-fan and dehumifier working overtime.
I'm so sorry to hear this.
I'll keep you in my prayers for a quick cleanup. We had water damage once and it really is stressful. Hugs to you during this difficult time.
Good to hear you guys are okay, Sandy. Scary evening.

It was tough. Marie and I were hunkered down in hallway off below grade family room. Rain, wind, sirens here also. But we're okay. Natalie, next town over, is okay. Vince was on shift, probably working hard during the storms. Will find out later. They had 83 mph winds out where he lives.

So very sorry to hear this, @Owlpost23. Water, where it does not belong, is terrible. Wishing you well and all back to normal soon.'s
I'm so glad to hear that you, Marie and your family are all ok
I bet Vince will have some very interesting stories to tell about the calls he had last night.

I did buy a waterpik. My old one been a little wonky for the last six months. But Amazon had it at 50% off, $49.99. Went to waterpik main site. Listed as$99.99. Ohhhh. Ahhhhhh. Then I checked Walmart, Kohl’s, target, they all had the same unit for under $60. So I saved a bit, but not 50% as Amazon would like you to believe.
I am sure all of the Prime discounts are off of the full MSRP, not off of whatever Amazon normally charges for it.

Yes and buying for me.

I put things in my cart here and there and if its something that either I don't want to buy if its not on sale or its something I can hold off on I'll see if its included in prime day.
I just bought a few pairs of dressy pants and a few zip up hoodies that were on major discount.

I was looking this morning and wasn’t going to get anything. I did think about getting a couple gift cards that were $50 for $40, but decided against it. I’ve read some reviews of how when people go to use the gift cards they had nothing on them. And they would’ve been Christmas presents so figured that was too big of a risk for 6 months.

I went back in a bit ago and saw some show inserts I like that are regularly 99.95 and I needed up paying 64 for them. They were on sale plus a 20% discount. I had them in my cart because I’d like another one because I’m tired of moving them from work shoes to regular shoes.

So while I did that I bought a couple other things in my cart. Got a lumbar pillow and a vegetable slicer for Christmas presents that were both marked prime day deals. However they were the same price as usual or atleast close to it. I also had a kids vtech drum set as a gift that wasn’t a prime day deal but just figured while I was ordering I’d clear out some of my cart.

A couple smart thermostats are on sale. I just started looking at a couple so not sure if this is the lowest price they’ve been. But once again it’s a Christmas gift and don’t want to chance not being able to return it because it’s 6 months away.

Calling all Amazon shoppers……Prime Day is here. For some of us this is a big deal. So tell us….

Will you be participating with this sale event?
If yes….,who are you shopping for?
(Multiple Choice)

For Me…….I’m a maybe. I have lots of lists on Amazon with many things in them. If something is a good sale item that I need, or would be for a gift, then I will buy it. I will not be buying just to buy because it’s Prime Day - I know several people that do this. I’m not a big, “just for the heck of it”, type shopper anyway - I need to have a reason and the item has to have a purpose. I’m trying to get stuff out of my house, not bring more stuff in - LOL!

Exactly! So far I’m not seeing anything

I did find some socks for summer. I was looking at the women's sneakers too, because I need a new pair but I didn't think the prices were al that great and I like trying stuff on. So I passed on those.

None for me since I have to be careful with funds, but my parents might be buying some things for me plus somethings for them too.

Hug and prayers of safety for all especially those of you impacted by the storm.

Dad and I also price compare. So far we haven't gotten anything extra right now during Prime Days. I hope those of you who are in need of something will find it at a good price. As others have shared, Amazon and other sites, sometimes fluctuate prices throughout the day or after you have looked at something. Suggestion is should you find something you need at a good price get it as soon as you are able.

Have a good night everyone :)

I finally bought a couple of jars of a vitamin C brightening cream (Naturewell) that I really like. Sam's Club used to have it but now it's only on-line. FedEx has been destroying boxes everytime I order on-line so I put it off. Amazon had the same cream, but it was more expensive. I checked yesterday and it was included in the prime sale, plus there was a 50% off coupon for one item. So, I got a couple of jars for the price of one. I'll take it. :)

Ended up buying a TV and a TV mount for the lake house - we converted a dining room space into an office/den, so we wanted a TV in there and Amazon had a 50" 4K TV for $200.

Also ended up buying a few other odds and ends which I had in wish lists and were on the Prime Day deals (30-40% off).

Nope. We cancelled Prime because shipping was so slow, Amazon seems to build the cost of shipping into the item cost anyway, and we hate the new commercials in Prime videos.

I bought some college dorm items for my daughter. I've been stalking and watching prices very carefully. I don't think the savings is all that great, at least for the stuff I look at. Half of the items in my cart said it was a Prime Day deal but a lamp I've been looking at for some time now decreased its price by $6 before Prime Day and remained at that price. I wrote down all the items I was really looking to get WAY BEFORE Prime Day and I think Prime Day savings wasn't that great, at least for me. But I've been shopping for college for over a year and tire of not being able to find things in the store. So rather than keep running around, I purchased the stuff.

I had mixed results - same as most years.
Overall it was decent
You just have to be careful with them and know what the item usually sells for or sells for locally.

There were a lot of good deals in Amazon Fresh. They also had a $40 off $100 on top of that.
There were a lot of $1 items. Thai Rice noodles were like $2.5 a box.
Buy 1 get 1 free Salmon was a good deal.

I got a handful of other small things that were a fair deal, but most things I wanted were the same price as a week or two ago.

Several of the streaming services for $0.99 a month for 2 months.

Just went looking for these today.....and they were a good deal. I don't like the ones I already have.

I wasn’t planning to buy anything, but DH found something he wanted that was on sale, so now I am watching my email this afternoon to see when it is delivered so I can grab it before the porch pirates do!

For the first time I found several items that I use on a regular basis on sale - I bought 11 items today. Every item I bought is 35% -55% off, which is awesome!! :cheer2:

I found other items I use on sale too, but the discounts weren't good enough for me to buy right now.

Nope. We cancelled Prime because shipping was so slow, Amazon seems to build the cost of shipping into the item cost anyway, and we hate the new commercials in Prime videos.
I agree - I was not happy to see this too :sad2:

For those that don't know.....you can pay $2.99 a month to get Amazon Prime ad free. My DH and I are currently watching a series on Prime, so I payed the $2.99. Once we we are done with this series, I'm canceling the $2.99 a month, because we don't watch Prime very often to justify paying it. If we get hooked on another series, then I'll just pay it again.
