I brush everyday, three times a day and I try to floss at least three days a week.

Brush twice a day and floss before bed. I have good teeth and want to keep it that way. Just got an email today from everyday health with this info -

Flossing your teeth at least once a week may reduce your risk of stroke and irregular heartbeat, according to a preliminary study to be presented next week at the American Stroke Association’s International Stroke Conference 2025 in Los Angeles.

“Flossing was also linked to better overall health, including lower blood pressure, healthier cholesterol levels, and lower chances of diabetes,” says study lead author Souvik Sen, MD, chair of the neurology department at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and a neurologist at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina.

Well, technically I don't floss ever. I use a water pick. Every now and again my portable one I take on vacation will break so then I have to floss. Every day for me. I use the water pick before I brush my teeth.

1) Floss every day
2) Rinse with a prescription solution every day
3) Brush with an electric toothbrush and sensitive teeth toothpaste every day
4) Brush with a manual toothbrush and gum toxicity toothpaste every day.

I am 67 and have all my teeth, including all 4 wisdom teeth. My mom lived to age 90 with all her teeth but one, that one was pulled when she had a toothache as a teenager. No Dentists around the farm she grew up on in very rural Saskatchewan Canada so a Veterinarian pulled the tooth. I really didn't realize how uncommon it have all your teeth at age 90 until she had to move into a care home the last year of her life. I got more than one call from the care home saying she was being uncooperative and refusing to take out her dentures! The various care givers over time seemed shocked when I told them she didn't have dentures.

Brush 3 times a day.
Mouthwash, floss and pick after breakfast and after dinner

Have had extensive work done for bite correction so I am heavily invested in my teeth. Brush 2-3 times a day, water pik twice a day and floss 1-2 times a day.

I brush twice a day and floss with both dental floss and the water pik most days a week, say 4 or 5 days out of the week.

I brush every day. Mostly twice a day, but sometimes forget to brush before bed. I only floss regularly the week before my 6 month cleanings. I’m just horrible about flossing. I need to do better.

I brush every morning, and floss randomly throughout the day. Brushing at night is more of a challenge, as my gums are starting to recede. I have to be careful of the direction in which I brush, and the dentist gave me some fluoride mouthwash to rigorously "swish" with rather than brushing every night. I have good teeth (although I had a couple of extractions... lousy dental care with a brutal dentist as a child, so for decades I didn't go to the dentist unless I had to) and would like to keep them!

Electric toothbrush 2 x a day, waterpik at night with a capful of mouthwash in the water tank.

I brush, tongue scrape, and use a water pik instead of floss. It’s gentler on my gums. I do carry floss in my purse, and chew gum to help when I’m on the go.

I brush at least 3 times a day minimum but I rarely floss as it’s really hard to get it through my very crowded teeth even the dentist has issues - so I rarely do it and I don’t care what the dentist has to say about it - they’ve gotten floss stuck in my teeth and had a hard time getting it out 🤣🤣 so it’s not just me !!

Good Luck today SLO!!! I hope it goes well for you !!!

I have close teeth and also had issues with floss breaking, or I used coated floss that did little cleaning. A hygienist recommended Dr. Tung's Smart Floss, which I order from Amazon, and it really is great. Problem solved.

My mom was a chair-side assistant to an oral surgeon, so we were trained to take care of our teeth. I floss and brush three times a day, or more if I eat sweets or something. I'm old and have only had two cavities, so it does seem to work.
