Two people voted that they don't eat tacos? I'm all for the individual, but only if those individuals play along with the taco status quo of everybody else.

Why would anyone not eat tacos when there are so many options? I actually don't mind either way, I just wanted to say "taco status quo" today.

So, I picked other b/c I'm all of the above, plus shrimp, fish, and black bean/veg tacos...

Now, if it's flour vs corn tortilla - I'm flour all the way:)...
According to my boss from Mexico and the burrito guy who comes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you like burritos, not tacos :p

American tacos - meat in a hard shell corn tortilla
Mexican taco - meat in a soft shell corn tortilla
Burrito - meat in a flour tortilla
Fajita - Burrito with peppers and onions.

Please share the recipe!
Oh sure!
I veer from the recipe in a few ways:
I put a whole bottle of Corona in.
Just regular oil
Two limes and a huge orange
We don’t use the Pineapple salsa. We chop cilantro and onion to top it with and serve it Street Taco style.
I slow cook instead of pressure cook I just feel it has better flavor.
Do NOT skip the broiling part.
eta: I use Pork Butt (picnic roast) not Pork Shoulder

I have not tried turkey tacos, but I do know that leftover turkey enchiladas the day after Thanksgiving are a family tradition (and favorite) for us.
We do this too!

Yes, but in America, Taco Bell taught us that flour tortillas are called "soft" tacos, while hard shell corn tortillas are called "hard" tacos:)...

I mean, if I have to do corn, I do the hard version, but then you have to fill it less b/c things just don't fit...and I'm a sucker for salsas, guac, lettuces/slaws, and stuff on top of my proteins:)...

You sound like me. I can’t wrap my head around someone not liking tacos. They’re the perfect meal right in your hand. When we were kids we got to choose our birthday dinner and I always chose tacos.

We fry the corn and the flour tortillas. Sacrilege I’m sure but anyone who’s had them at our house now does theirs this way.
For soft shells, this thing is amazing. It basically steams them and keeps them soft and warm the whole meal.

It's one of the foods that's still great as adults as much as it was in childhood, unlike so much Chef Boyardee stuff. They can even be easy or more involving.

It's safe to say that much if this board is taco simpatico.

That’s like asking who is my favorite child. We have a steady variety happening in this house.
Same...I needed an all of the above and more option. :o

Tacos are literally my most favorite food ever, I mean, I could seriously eat them breakfast, lunch, dinner. All varieties...soft, hard, almost any filling.

At home, when I make fried tacos I use seasoned ground beef, chicken, potato, or even turkey with Thanksgiving leftovers. Here's a Google pic of some potato tacos and thats pretty much what they looks like when I make them.

Or if we have street tacos, soft corn tortilla with carne asada, pollo, or al pastor, which I prefer over carnitas(both pork), onions, cilantro and salsa.

I also prefer fish tacos over shrimp but they are both good.

Sometimes we do fake tacos, with store bought hard taco shells, taco seasoning and all the fixings but not often when I prefer the real ones.

Really I will only eat tacos in So California(or obviously in Mexico) though. As much as I love them and always want them, I've always been disappointed whenever I had them any other place.

Yum....now I want some tacos. :lmao:

How could I forget about breakfast tacos?

If you want to up your taco game, buy FRESH tortillas and cook them on a griddle right before eating. I've graduated to this level and I'm not going back to the other kind. Although, these are easy to find in CA, not sure about elsewhere.

I chose beef in the polls, pork would be second choice. I can't eat chicken (allergic to poultry).

If I make them myself, I prefer beef. If I go to Taco Bell, again, beef. But if I go to a Mexican restaurant I only get chicken

When ChiChi's was still around, I always got the shrimp fajita. I loved that they gave you 3 flour tortillas and a corn tortilla as I loved the corn soft tortilla. Only issue I had was it wasn't switched with 3 corn and 1 flour.

So, I saw Mission corn tortillas in the store and bought them. They were horrible! And there was only 1 package size of, maybe a billion, billion and a half tortillas in the package? LOL. It was a stinkin lot. I didn't know what to do with until one day remembered they were still in the fridge and got the idea to cut them up and fry them trying to make my own tortilla chips.

They came out FANTASTIC! I was able to use them all up. Now years later I recently bought an air fryer and made my own potato chips which come out outstanding! I just got home about an hour ago from the store and I have a package of corn tortillas to try out in the air fryer for chips.

I make tortilla chips in my air fryer when I make Chicken Taco Chili. What I do is take a stack, spray the top with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Move that one to the bottom of the stack and do the next. I only do the tops but by placing them on top of each other the bottoms get the oil and salt without having to flip them over. Then I take a pizza cutter and just run it through the whole stack. Strips if I’m lazy, triangles if I’m feeling fancy. I like Guerrero White Corn Tortillas but like you said it’s hard to find a smaller pack.

Dang, I would have cut them then sprayed and salted after layering them out in the air fryer basket. Never thought of doing it like that. Although I haven't tried yet and thoughts are on cutting, frying in oil, then salting and it would be basically same for the air fryer. I think you saved me some time, LOL.

And Mission is the only corn tortillas I've ever seen in the store. I've been hunting for another brand to use for "tacos" for a long time.

Chose other to vote Fish Tacos! We mostly make Beef, as I am the only fish eater in the house, but if I have the choice of Fish Tacos, that is what I get.
