Somewhat on topic. Some burger chain tried selling 1/3 pound burgers to compete with McDonalds Quarter Pounder, but they failed because supposedly most consumers believed 1/4 is larger than 1/3.
This reminds me of a George Carlin bit -- Think how dumb the average American is, and that half are even dumber :rotfl2:

I voted Homemade and Other ( not sure?)
90% of homemade burgers in my household are Turkey burgers. When my husband wants a beef hamburger he'll either buy fresh ground meat or fresh premade patties at our local convenience store.

Ther is nothing more infuriating than eating at a busy, tourist heavy burger joint and being served a $15 frozen patty. I know immediately and I'm offended at the practice. I will NOT order a burger unless the waitress can answer the simple question: Is is fresh ground meat?

I won't even serve a frozen burger at my home for any occasion, no matter the cost.

I keep Bubba burgers in the freezer for times when I need a quick dinner. I do like to make my own when I have time to defrost the beef.

I used to always make the patties myself, but found some wonderful pre-made ones at Kroger from one of their "Kentucky Proud" vendors, so I've started buying those. They are fresh beef, not frozen, so not really different from making my own and about the same price as ground beef.

DH makes a bunch at a time and freezes them for individual use. We have never bought the pre-made beef patties, fresh or frozen.

I only eat veggie burgers now. Most of the time it's a pre-made frozen one, or sometimes I'll marinate some portabella mushroom caps to stand in for the burger. I've found most veggie burger recipes really take a lot of time to prepare, and many I've tried have not had great results.

We almost always make homemade burgers. Sometimes we buy them freshly made from the butcher. Never buy a box of frozen ones.

I usually only eat them at restaurants. If we are doing them at home it is pre-made. Usually the fresh ones in the Meat section rather than the frozen .
