Once in a while have original on a salad when we carry in or as a dip with veggies when we get wings.

Must be pretty popular because some fast food places will give you any dipping sauce you want for free, but they charge extra for Ranch.

I keep some original in the house because my cousin eats a ton of it on seemingly everything, but if I put dressing on something like raw veggies I choose blue cheese by Ken's.

I remember the days when some restaurants charged extra for bleu cheese dressing. My father never let me order it.

It’s not that I really liked it all that much, I just wanted something “special.” And I probably did it to annoy him too.

There might still be a few places clinging to their 1940’s menus that still charge extra.

LOL. Not 1940's to me, very 2021 to me. Everything costs extra now.

I like Ranch and French, but always order ranch at restaurants because it's fairly consistent and therefore the safest choice. (French varies too much- they might have one that's more sour or...Dorothy Lynch :crazy2:)

I mainly get Hidden Valley original- maybe Buttermilk, I don't notice much difference. I've been at some local restaurants that make it in-house that is delicious.

There's definitely a lot of dressings I haven't tried in my life as I stick to those two.

Original Ranch. Most of the time Kraft, but I will buy others if on sale. We use it mostly for dipping vegetables and for recipes (Rosemary Ranch Chicken is a HUGE winner in our family) but we stick to Italian for salads. And wings ... ALWAYS Blue Cheese ... not room for debate. Ranch with wings is a dealbreaker! 👎

Half the salt. Only pinch of sugar. Use 1/2c ranch, 1/3c evoo.

I have to check and see if stores still sell Good Seasons Italian dressing packets and the glass carafes.
Thanks. My mom used them decades ago and I haven’t had it in over 30 years. Might try it again.

As already replied, yes they do! Good Seasons is my favorite Italian dressing as I can chose the quality of the olive oil! ::yes:: That's the only Italian dressing I buy.

I actually started making my own ranch dressing a few months ago to control the sodium. So simple and tasty and much better for you than store bought.

Would you care to share your recipe?
3/4 cup Mayo (I use Hellman’s with Olive Oil)
1/2 cup sour cream (I use regular sour cream because I find that reduced or fat free tend to eventually water it down. I’ve also made it using a full cup of the olive oil Mayo and just a 1/4 cup of sour cream)
1/2 tsp dried chives
1/2 tsp dill weed
1/2 tsp dried parsley flakes
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp pepper
Pinch of salt

Not a fan AT ALL. I eat blue cheese, Ken's lite Italian, 1000 Island/Russian, Green Goddess, all kinds of vinaigrettes, but NOT RANCH.

Its ok. I will use it occasionally. I just like to change up my salad dressings so I use different varieties.
