For Me….I like it and look forward to it every St. Patrick’s Day week.
My FIL makes it every year and brings my DH and I a nice amount for us to have dinner. We are eating that tonight (I like the dinner, but love the fact I don’t have to cook tonight even more), which is what inspired this poll.

I do not like ham very much, but love the salty goodness of corned beef. I always plan on making corned beef hash with the leftovers, but never have any, so bought an extra corned beef just for that.

My dad makes salt beef and cabbage at Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving family get togethers. Maybe it ‘s the same as corned beef? I‘m not really sure. He buys it in a big white bucket from the Newfie store.

I don’t like the beef, but I love the cabbage that’s cooked with it cause it’s nice and salty. :)

So, I posted Other...

I don't like what Americans serve as the traditional St Pat's meal. I do like how I've taken the ingredients and rethought the meal with roasted cabbage, mashed potatoes, and slow roasted corned beef.

ITS NOT IRISH , IRISH PEOPLE DONT EAT IT, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ST PATRICKS DAY!!!!!!

I dont understand why you get so worked up over this. We have different traditions in America with regards to St. Patrick’s Day. This is one of them.

We made reservations at a local tavern for the 17th. Looking forward to eating cabbage and potato soup, and an Irish roast.

It has everything to do with St Patrick's Day b/c folks have made that a tradition - and enough folks do that and it becomes a shared cultural tradition.

I mean, I hope it doesn't upset you too much, but the Thanksgiving meal (at least most of it) is also not what the 1st Thanksgiving folks ate for Thanksgiving.

Its not "St Pats" Day, Its called St Patricks Day or Paddys Day

It is MY country, my national holiday, I live in Ireland, I was born here, I have an Irish passport, thats why

I dont give two hoots about Thanksgving, not my country, not my holiday, we dont have that in Ireland.

gee wizz, Americans get oh so patriotic about so many things, but when the shoes on the other foot, and someone from another country says hey wait a minute, thats not right, thats not its done in my country, and people become patriotic about their country and customs , its not liked!!

You set the tone in the first response with your yelling.
It’s not even a poll about St. Patrick’s Day. :confused3
