I'm not superstitious by nature, but there is this one peculiar thing: my grandmother always said it was bad luck to take a pin or sewing needle from someone directly. You should always pin it to the person's sleeve or whatever and let them take it that way. I sew, and every time I do I think of this quirk. I don't remember ever handing someone a pin or needle, btw. I don't know if I would do this if I did.
And I just remembered another one-on New Year's Eve, we used to give each other a dollar to keep in our wallets all year. The superstition was that way you'll never be broke. That's a bunch of bull because I've been broke plenty.
