Love it! Butter and salt only. Our local farms just started selling fresh picked, so we'll be having it a couple of times a week for a while.

I cut it off the cob to eat, due to some dental work, so it really doesn’t make a lot of sense for me to buy it. Sometimes it’s hard to resist though, when it’s fresh and sweet.

I just put butter and salt on mine, but would be willing to try something new. I only eat it at home, because I will agree with my DH about them being messy. I also don’t like my teeth being filled with corn (it gets in between my teeth)
And this is why I don't eat corn on the cob. Sure it tastes good, but it's too much of a hassle to deal with the consequences. Perhaps it should be called "Cornsequences." :jester:

I think I might have "tight" teeth because this is never an issue for me. Not, blackberry and raspberries sees--ugh, drive me crazy.

Corn on the cob is a staple summertime treat for many of us. We cook it a home, we eat it at festivals and go to local corn roasts. But how does the majority of us truly feel about corn on the cob? My DH eats it when I serve it, but he’s just ok with it - he says it’s to messy and would rather just eat corn with a fork. So tell us today…..

What is your opinion of corn on the cob?
Where do you eat it?
(multiple choice)

*Poll request…..if you put toppings on your corn on the cob, that’s different than the normal butter and salt, please post what they are. Many of us would enjoy trying something new. Thanks :thumbsup2

For Me……I love corn on the cob. I try to serve it at least 2-3 times during the summer. I served it last night with our burgers and baked beans, which is what inspired this poll. I just put butter and salt on mine, but would be willing to try something new. I only eat it at home, because I will agree with my DH about them being messy. I also don’t like my teeth being filled with corn (it gets in between my teeth) and then talking with people (when I’d be at a festival or local corn roast)- drives me crazy. At home, I floss my teeth right after dinner.

I like it with butter, salt and pepper but I LOVE it with butter and Trader Joe’s Everything but the Elote spice shaken on it. Yum

Love it, but don't recall seeing it on the menu at any restaurant, and don't recall it being served at a friends.
We have a community near here named Sloughhouse. People drive from all over this time of year for their corn on the cob.
But really, corn on the cob is available fresh in the store year round here, so not just a summer time veggie.

I like corn on the cob, but I don't like the corn in my teeth or picking all of the 'silk' off the cobs. I make it a couple of times a summer. My mom used to make it often in the summer and for many years we grew our own in our garden. I remember delicious summer meals of sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers and corn on the cob... all from the garden.

We have corn on the cob here when the local Mirai variety of corn is in season, about late July through end of August, maybe first week in September Grown by local farm in Harvard Illinois, sold there and they attend about a dozen of the local farmers markets. It really is different. Amazing! Jeremy just asked me last week when the Mirai was coming in. 🌽

We like the corn, but do not have a subscription, haha

We have friends with a large extended family. They have a 4th of July get together every year, usually includes corn on the cob. They did yesterday. Very good, though not 'Mirai good' We have to wait a few more weeks for that.

ETA...We usually get a dozen for us and a dozen for each Natalie ad Vince. Then repeat maybe 2 weeks later, etc. I'll usually snip off all the tassels, refrigerate those not eaten that day. Microwave in the husks for 2 minutes each. Salt, butter, a little pepper and sometimes a sprinkle some parmesan cheese. Wish I had one now.

I found corn on sale the other day at 8 for $1.00. We tossed it on the grill last night, first wrapped in foil and then the last few minutes without the foil to get a light char on it. It was really good!

I like it. We have wonderful sweet corn here in Jersey, and it's usually very cheap this time of year. I don't mind peeling it and taking the silk off. Most of the supermarkets in my area keep a big box by the corn for people to shuck their corn right in the store. I like it just with butter and a bit of salt.

I enjoy it and have had some multiple times already in the past month. I don’t put anything on it.

Love it
Roast it on the grill ❤️❤️
Boil it roll in butter roll in Parmesan cheese
Just butter and some salt
I could go on and on
Corn is a favorite veggie of mine !!!
Do hate it getting in my teeth / but I always carry dental floss with me so not an issue if I’m out and about ! Crowded teeth can make any food an issue !!
Never pass on corn on the cob !!! ❤️❤️

Never use butter or salt …just doesn’t need it!

Love it - probably have it a couple times in the summer. Either at home or at a neighborhood picnic. The only time I've had it in restaurants (usually as part of a clambake), it's always way too overcooked.

ETA: BTW, it's the 5th, not the 6th ;)

Hey…,thanks!
I’m getting ahead of myself.
Actually…I wanted to see if anyone was paying attention :rotfl:
I’ll blame it on not enough coffee yet when I posted it :surfweb:

Love corn on the cob! We have it at least 1-2 times a month during the summer. We only use butter to season.

I did eat fried corn on the cob in Nashville at a BBQ place called Corkys. It was really good and I haven't tried to replicate it. Maybe I'll try a revised air fryer version of that this summer. :)

I noticed it right away but didn't want to be a nit-picker...5th, 6th, 7th, who cares?

Love it, eat often at home. 💛🌽 Butter and Salt added.

I cut mine off the cob, so I avoid other than home.

NOTE: I boil my corn with about 2 tablespoons of sugar. Even if your corn isn't very sweet the sugar helps change that.
My aunt always cooks hers in milk (and butter). It's not full up milk but lots of milk added to water.

One time when I was eating a seafood place on the eastern shore, they were cooking their corn this way also.

Never heard of milk, interesting. :scratchin

I just googled. Said it makes it sweet so I guess a similar process of my sugar.
