I've had many jobs but never one that required me to work on weekends. There were a few exceptions when I had to work under unusual circumstances, but those were extremely rare.

We're normally M-F, but there have been times when we've put in some weekend hours. Usually, weekend work is required if we're integrating a new system, doing a largescale product merger, or we're acquiring a new firm where we need to test to make sure everything transitions smoothly. A couple of acquisitions caused a massive influx of client work where we had to put in weekend hours for several months. Nobody was happy, but the work needed to get done. It's too bad that all of that occurred before we implemented work from home alternatives.

Ages ago, I worked in a restaurant. Weekend work was pretty much a given.

I have a traditional M-F 8 AM-4:30 pm office schedule but I'm also available 24/7 365 to all my employees. Generally our jobsites don't work weekends, but the nature of our work means once or twice a year we have some 2-5 day round-the-clock stretches -usually around a holiday - when the plants we are working on shut down and we have to get work done. We also work on some gov't installations and if they need something done we do it, no matter the day of the week. Luckily that is limited to once or maybe twice a year.

My last job was Saturday through Tuesday working and Wednesday through Friday off. I loved that schedule. It was so easy to get things done during the week, and the commute on the weekend wasn’t as cutthroat as on a weekday. I would love to find a new job with that schedule.

The only time I worked weekends was in retail jobs as a teenager and college student, and a couple summers that I waited tables in a restaurant.

I've had jobs where I had Mon-Fri hrs or available all days. My last employer gave mandatory OT for almost every week of the year. I worked at home so I did those hours early on the weekend.
My daughter is in retail and works any day and 2 nights a week. Although she and my GS live with us, it is not easy to be a single parent and have to be available all the time.

In my current job, I think I've worked on weekends twice in 8 years.

Being in Higher Ed, generally speaking there's not a lot of work that has to be done on weekends.

I have been retired for 15 years. When I worked, it was five days a week (M-F) from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. I did that for 36 years.

I’m retired now and my former job was generally M-F but occasionally I worked weekends to meet a project deadline or other unusual situations.

In my current job weekend work is normally a rarity. However I’ve work two half days on Saturday in the past month. My department is short staffed so I’ve taken on more duties. Coming in on Saturday is the only way to get some projects done. At least I’m nonexpempt so I get paid OT when o come in.

My previous job weekends and after hours were part of the gig. I would often work up to 13 hours a day and weekends. 6-7 days per week. I once worked 16 days in a row without a day off. I was exempt so no OT.

I do work -- our office isn't open, but I sometimes use the weekend to catch up on stuff to get ready for the workweek.

When I worked hotels (over 20 years ago), I worked every weekend as manager-on-duty.

Im retired, but when I worked at a video store I did work weekends. When I did secretarial work I did not work weekends. My last job was waitressing, and I did work weekends. They were the best nights for tips. At one point I was working 10 days in a row with one day off. It was too much and I gradually cut back to working Friday and Saturday evenings, Sunday during the day, and Monday evenings.

Before retired, I would see clients periodically who were not able to, or did not want to, get together on the M-F weekdays. Not often, but that's what they preferred. It was fine.

I normally don't work weekends. If I've been in meetings all week and need to get work actually done then I'll work over the weekend to catch up. It's rare though. I make a point not to do full days so it's usually 4 hours a day when I do need to work over the weekend.
In the past when we've had releases on Friday nights, we'd work that very early Saturday morning. I haven't needed to do that in years but there's recent talks of starting that up.

I used to work weekends but haven't in many years...occasionally I'll have to log in from home to take care of something quick, and once a year we go in on a Saturday morning to do inventory

I'm not scheduled to work on the weekends but there are times (like tomorrow ) where I have to come in and catch up on some things.
