Sleep Number Beds....

Both DD and I have them. We have only one complaint. There is a dip in the center of the bed where the two air bladders meet. I've heard that it isn't a problem when two people are sleeping in the bed because each person tends to stay on their side of the bed. DD and I each have queen beds and we are the only ones who sleep in our beds. I move from one side to the other during the night. I always notice the dip.

I bought a queen size with a single air chamber ... love it. Though now my fiance and I have to have the same sleep number, but he's not complaining.

Ours feels more like a bump to me but a dip to Dh since my # is usually set on 25 or 30 and DH is on 60. :upsidedow

My only complaint would be that if you are someone who likes to sleep on the edge of the bed and on your side and you like a very soft mattress (25 or less), you may have issues. The edge is foam so you end up sleeping with your knees elevated higher than your bum since your knees will rest on the foam while you bum will rest on the air bladder which will be lower than the foam because of the low # setting.

Ours feels like a bump, too. But again, I am a 40 and DH is a 70. So, there is a huge difference.

We've had ours going on 7 years and I absolutely love it. I cannot imagine ever going back to a regular matress again.

I must be the lone ranter, we hated ours. We got rid of it in less than 5 years. We had so many issues and got no satisfaction from the CS department.

We've had one for the last 6 1/2 years. I hate it, but DH loves it. I think I've managed to sleep all the way through the night a handful of times in the years that we've had it. We're pretty much stuck with getting these kind of mattresses forever though, b/c DH needs a super firm mattress and I need a soft one.

Thanks for all the great replies. I think we are going to go the store & look at the 9000 ones. I like the fact, that you can try it for 30 days, thats a big plus!

I tried one at a hotel too and couldn't get comfortable at all. I tried a variety of numbers over the 5 nights we were there and it just didn't work for me. I was also very pregnant at the time so that might have had something to do with it though...

we have had ours about 12 years-love it-its so comfy and you an adjust it as you need-hubby has herniated disks and his doc reccommended one years ago-ours is a king size and i do hate dealing with the dip-but since i have that issue when hes deployed its just one more thing.

We've had ours for a few years now - love it!

The 30 day sleep guarantee is great, but if you're pretty sure you'll keep it (most people do) a way to get an AWESOME deal on one is to call their toll free number, they have either refurbished or outlet priced beds. Same warranty, etc., just not the 30 day sleep guarantee. The last time I checked for someone, a refurb king mattress was $699, foundation $399.

If you buy one, get a "referral" from someone you know who has one - they have a loyalty-type program.

We have two! Love  the King 8000 (Pillowtop) and don't really care for the Queen 5000 - it made my shoulders hurt as I am a stomach/side sleeper and place my arm(s) under the pillow.

We now hurry home from vacations just so we can sleep in our own bed!
