Sleep... Need vs. Get

Do you get as much sleep as your body seems to need? I know people who function perfectly well on a small amount of sleep and then others who get a lot of sleep but are still tired. I've figured out that my optimum hours of sleep per night would be 9. More than 9 and it's too much. Less than 9 and I feel tired when I wake up. I wish it was a smaller number than 9! (I average about 7.) How about you?
 
Wellll, I normally get about 6 hours. My body would appreciate more like 9. When I've had any sleepless nights, my body makes up for it later.
 
I also feel great with 9, I usually get 71/2 to 8. Unfortunatley it is often interrupted.

I barely sleep any more, I am so worried about my teens all the time. Are they behaving, will they make curfew, and are they getting along with their friends & BF/GF's. I know I need to let some of it go.....but I want their little lives to be perfect Ha!

Most of the time it's about 4 hours of sleep for me::yes::
 
I love 8 hours of sleep!!! Sometimes tho I get 7 and other times maybe 9 so it averages out!!:bounce:
 
Sleep is my FAVORITE past time. Alas, with an infant, those days are LOOONG gone. I'm lucky to get 4 hours a night, our 18 month old sleeps with us, enough said.::yes::
 
I need at least 8 hours of sleep otherwise I'm really tired. Which would explain why I'm usually in bed by 10 pm.
 
I am not sure what I need, but I'm guessing around 9, since 8 doesn't do it. I don't usually get 8 though, more like 7 or so. I am a light sleeper though, so if something wakes me up (like my kid grinding his teeth) I'm awake for an hour.

I work overnights so I try to sleep during the day. Easier in th winter when I average about 5-6 hours. Come summer I average 3-4 hours.

The only exception is Sunday, I probably get 7 or so. My whole family knows better then to open the door ask "Have you seen my...(insert stupid item here)....?"
 
When I've been doing without sleep a lot I tend to have a hard time sleeping more than 5-6 hours at a time. It's difficult but I've found if I make myself stay in bed and try to sleep longer I can get that stretched out to about 8 hours a night. Then life interfers again and I have to go without much sleep for several days in a row and then I just start all over again.
 
I need 10 hours but manage with 9 normally. However, the past few weeks my DH has started to snore and it really is driving me insane. I am such a light sleeper that I cant sleep through it. I have tried giving him decongestant, but it doesnt work. Other than hitting him with a hammer, I dont know what else to do :(
I slept in DDs twin bed with her last night, but couldnt do that for ever.:rolleyes:
 
On a work night I get about 6 hours sleep and I know I need more, probably about 8. I can't get to sleep until late and then just keep waking up for no reason lately though! Then by the time it gets to the weekend I am shattered.
 
Need 8, get 6.5 during the week. I make up for it on the
weekends when possible.
