When do FW get booked? Mine is a Feb fixed week. I’m afraid to call in and cancel it for 2027 since the last time I tried he was looking at a current reservation I had for the same month (different year) and if he hadn’t been thinking out loud he would have cancelled my regular reservation.

It should be 11+ months, but the DPs have been inconsistent.

If you know you want to opt out, just book something with the current UY allotment on that contract and DVC won't book your FW that year.

I just pulled my history and it says they booked it 02/20/2025 which is 12 months in advance of my FW. So I wouldn’t be able to book anything in that UY before they book it right? My UY is Dec so that could be why..?

If you book something on 1/2/26 for 12/1/26 you would automatically opt out for your Dec 2026 UY.

Makes sense. Sometimes I overthink so much I confuse it all.

I will add looking at my history over the last year I was debited for a member gift for the extra points not needed to book my FW, when I cancelled the FW those points came back to me and I never noticed anything off them throughout the year.

I just had my Copper Creek week 49 booked yesterday. The week is Dec 6-13, 2026.
So just under 12 months ahead

Did you get an email notifying you about the FW49 booking, or did you just login to your dashboard and notice it?

My FW49 2026 isn't booked yet. But 2 months ago when they booked my FW41 2026, I received an email on the same day that I checked-in for my FW41 2025, so exactly 12 months for that one.

I got an email, the typical Disney one “ We want to Welcome You Home” showing my confirmation.

My FW49 2026 isn't booked yet. But 2 months ago when they booked my FW41 2026, I received an email on the same day that I checked-in for my FW41 2025, so exactly 12 months for that one.

And earlier today I received an email that my FW49 2026 is booked, so approx. 11.5 months in advance. When they booked my FW41, they included both me and DW on the reservation. However, for this FW49, they only listed me even though both me and DW are listed as the owners on both FW contracts. I'm happy that I'll be going again next year.

The last couple of years our FW was getting booked extremely late. Glad to see this is more timely.
