Skyliner question

I will say, even if driving was faster, I might still be inclined to take the skyliner. It really does feel like an attraction to me. It’s so fun and relaxing. Almost like I’m starting my park day before I even walk through the tapstiles.

Then again, you could always just take it to and from Epcot and then choose to drive to HS to ensure you get there when you want to.

Have fun!
Agree. I can't imagine that driving is *significantly* faster than the Skyliner. The Skyliner line is continuously moving and lets you out right at the line to get into DHS. With driving, you have to contend with the traffic of cars to get into the lot, parking, and walking the length of the lot to get to the DHS line.

The issue is parking lots don't let cars line up at the gates too early, usually no more than 60 minutes before official park open (sometimes less, yikes). Cars arriving too early have been turned away and directed to drive a big loop before attempting again.

I'd leave POP at 7:55a for a 9am HS open and try pulling up to the parking booths about 8:05am. AK and MK have been known to not start allowing cars until 40mins pre park open but I think that's been getting better lately?

Check back a week or two before your trip to see how things are going. They try to avoid having a crowd lined up at park front before tap-styles open by controlling transportation entry timing. More changes expected once the Onsite Perk starts for 30 minute early entry.

Our trip isn't until the 1st week of March, so I'll definitely check back in when it gets a little closer to our date. I'm just worried about getting backed up on the skyliner and risking not getting in the park prior to open.

Thank you so much for your input, I'll keep what you said in mind if we do decide to drive.

I do want to experience taking the skyliner, so I think our plan will be to drive to HS and take the skyliner to Epcot, like you suggested. Thanks for the feedback!

Not a problem now-just be at PopArt Station in time for the first Flights. :)

Since Disney is no longer requiring Guests to physically be in DHS for the first Boarding Group opportunity, the line when the Station opens is nothing like it was in those days.

Here was our experience last week:

Arrive at PopArt Station at 7:15 AM-VERY short line.

First Flight at 7:32 AM.

Board our Gondola at 7:35 AM.

Arrive at CBR Station at 7:38 AM.

Short lines at CBR Station.

First Flight to DHS at 7:45 AM.(Line is rapidly building by this point.)

Arrive at DHS before Cars and Buses begin arriving.

DHS opens at 8:05 AM for "official" 9:00 AM open.

Two walk-ons for Slinky Dog.

GROOVY way to start the day!:)

Thank you all for your input. It looks like we'll be skylining it to both DHS and Epcot! 😁

Given that you'd have to go to the CBR hub and change, that seems to me like an awful lot of work to sit in a bucket on a wire. Then again, I'm not one who thinks the Skyliner is all that.
