I've got a RSG auction burning a hole in my pocket, and I'm thinking about using it March 12-19th. There isn't any availability on Skyauction yet for March, anybody had success in this time frame in previous years? Typically when could I expect to see availability showing up for March?

Do you mean you have won an RSG auction but haven't scheduled a place with them yet??

I was wondering if I should try and win one and book later, because I don't see the place I want for this December.

Sorry I couldn't answer your question about March. I've never been that time of year.

Yes, I won an auction in August, but there hasn't been any availability at the location we were interested in since I won. There were some good properties showing for my time frame about a week before we decided to go, but nothing since. The fact that there were some nice places is what prompted us to make some plans, but since then we changed where we wanted to go, and are thinking about Florida instead ( doesn't even have to be Orlando).

I use skyauction all the time but rarely use RSG. The only time I use it is IF it shows availability of when I want to go, I reserve it subject to winning then confirm. I normally use regular auctions.

I booked my weeks for Feb and Mar in Florida from June to Oct. They have had very little available for Feb and Mar for a couple of months. Only one I know of on regular auction is silver lake in 1BR for early March. You never know but I personally dobut if any RSG will be available in Feb or Mar.

all is not lost with a RSG auction if you cannot find what you want....

they will let you apply the amount you paid to another auction on the boards ( let say there is a Vistana week available you can bid on that and use the RSG amount to apply to the final price )

we did this last year when we could not find anything and it was getting close to the "expiration" of the RSG timeframe

you can call the 1-800-929-9929 and talk to an agent there, they can fill you in on the details of following this "route"

just in passing, the pickings from skyauction seem to be getting "slimmer" all the time ( particularly the "good" ones ) as more and more owners find out about the good deals we have gotten, and they have complained to the developers who in turn have put pressure on RCI

they used to have all kinds of "weeks" available in Las Vegas

not only can we not find them on Skyauction anymore, we have had trouble finding good weeks with the RCI exchange to which we belong

thus, enjoy the deals while you can, they will not always be there

this year Easter and palm is in March - so they means the supply will be very, very short.

Look for April or May - then you would probably find some.

the only way timeshares have to fight RCI is either to quit using (not happening) or also go with II - alot have - but as long as their owners are using RCI - skyauction will have availability.

there are other sources besides skyauction for II - their is one for government, one of military (very popular these days), and one for charities.

all i can say is check often, they put stuff up on a daily basis
good luck, or you may need to change your days, i got such a good deal trough them i changed my dates to the auction i won

Not only are the pickins slim, but they are more $$ than before.
They have added surcharges to a lot of weeks. Some for peak times, some for supposed peak times which aren't. I wrote a letter of complaint and was basically told, too bad. If people will pay it, they are going to charge it. Look for prices to just keep going up. :(

We can't change our dates because my husband is on course right now, and the school is shut down for that week, which coincides with the kids' March Break. We've decided to just stay home, which sucks, but we don't want to spend a ton of money on an impromptu trip and maybe jeapordize the trip we have planned for November. My son is also playing hockey this year, and the last regular season game is the Sat. we would be leaving, and there is a tournament scheduled for later in the week. Even though we told the team at the beginning of the season that we would be away for March Break ( before the tournament was scheduled), we'll stay home so he can play. We might go away for a couple of days after the tournament, maybe skiing or something. ( I can stay inside, sit by the fire or in the hot tub, and dream of being warm).
