Thought it was a snoozer. Middle DS almost 12 loved it though. Oldest DS who is 14 and a huge Sci-Fi fan also thought it was dumb.

My 10 year old thought it was adventurous and funny.

I loved it, the way it was filmed was also great

I could have slept through the first hour if the theater seats had been more comfy. However, when they got to that snowy place (wasn't paying attention to know where they actually were), the movie picked up and maintained my interest. My 3 kids loved it, though - beginning to end. There were a few hilarious parts that had the entire theater laughing. I liked how different it was, though, and hope it does really well.

I guess it must be geared to younger kids? DS15 and friends went to see it last night and hated it. They came out of the theater well before it was over. This was the second week in a row that the movie was a waste of money for them. Last week they saw Napoleon Dynamite and didn't like that - again maybe suitable for the younger kids?

Are we talking "campy" like Escape From New York? I really like wierd sci-fi, although I really didn't like "Hellboy".
I might go see it alone...;)

I liked it alright, but Chris loved it. 'Course, he's a true sci-fi geek and a comic book geek so he LOVED the "vintage" robots and flying machines. I'll definatly buy it for him when it comes out on DVD.

I loved this movie. It brought back everything that was great about the old movie serials from the 1930's. The It was a fun, campy adventure with some of the coolest robots ever to be shown on the silver screen. I plan to see it at least once more and I would buy the DVD now if I could.

Jet packs, flying robots, submersible airplanes, flying aircraft carriers, evil scientests, dashing heros, beautiful heroines.. Whats not to love?

I also thought it was interesting and I'm glad I saw it. My DH really liked it, but I was admittedly bored in parts...kind of a guy movie, really. (I'll admit that my choice would have been Wimbledon)

The film style was amazing...very retro to the late 1930's. This is a period I'm studying so it was cool to make the connections. It's the streamlined style that follows art deco, mixed with science fiction/fantasy.

Although Gwyneth pulled off period acting in Shakespeare in Love, she didn't seem quite right for the part of Polly Perkins. She looked a little too wholesome and not quite worldly enough. Angelina Jolie played the style perfectly, however.
