...on Wednesday to go see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway!!! :woohoo: :goodvibes
Has anyone seen it? How did you like it?

My first Broadway show. The girl who plays Belle right now is o.k. She is reprising the role. She became the logest running Belle when she returned. The costumes are what make the show. I know that you will love it. Have fun Andrew!

Thoroughly Modern Millie

I live in CT, fairly close to NYC. We go to the city fairly often.

I saw Beauty and the Beast. That was when I had no appreciation for musicals. (I'm now a bit musical-obsessed.)

My friend was reminding me yesterday that I fell asleep during it.

But remember that's when I didn't like musicals.

If it makes you feel any better, I fell asleep during "Oklahoma!" I was much younger and it was a very late show. It was also my first show. They don't let me forget it, lol.

I really liked Beauty and the Beast. It's an adorable show, I can't think of a thing I didn't like about it. Although I gotta say I liked Lion King a bit better. Those two songs that weren't in the movie, Endless Night and Shadowland, are showstoppers. And I cried during Lion King
Anyways, don't mind my Broadway-related emotions. ;) Have a good time! I'm sure you'll love it! :thumbsup2

Oh! I saw that with my French class in sixth grade. It was one of the greatest Broadway shows I've seen, almost as good as the movie! Have a great time there and I hope you enjoy the show. :sunny:

I've never seen it but I've been in it---does that count?

and no i wasnt on broadway, i wish....i cant sing for the life of me, my highschool has the best theatre program in our area and we did it for our musical this past spring and we sold out three shows, i was just a townsperson because i cant sing but i love to act and all i heard about how amazing it was, and it was so much like the broadway show. it was a lotta fun too!

I've seen the Rockettes, The Civil War Musical, Pokemon Live (...), and soon I'll be seeing The Lion King.

I'll be seeing The Lion King in the near future as well.

Begging my parents about it for 6 months straight worked well. :thumbsup2

My sister and mother saw the Lion King years ago, and loved it. I hope that you enjoy it!

I've seen it twice on Broadway and it was amazing! :)
But I'm so jealous because right now, Donny Osmond is playing Gaston and John Tartaglia is playing Lumiere. (John was the original Princeton/Rod in Avenue Q and I adore that musical). and I hear they are both awesome in it.
So have funn!!! :)

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I've never seen a Broadway show...so be sure to give us an amazing review ok? Have fun!!!

Uhhh! Have fun Im soo jealous! Im going to go see a show in Las Vegas but I dont know which one yet my parents are surprising me but anyway have fun and give us lots of details!

Update:
We thought that it was great! However, we still thought that the movie was better. They had to add a lot of music to get it to a decent length, and most of the new music, with the exception of "Change in Me" could have been better. The new music was not catchy and had more narrative than catchy refrains. The Belle actress was very good, but we got the afternoon understudy for Gaston. He was pretty good. I liked that they added lots of humor. It worked with every character, especially Lumiere and Madame de La Grande Bouche, but not the Beast. The "I want her to come to dinner!" with whining was corny, IMO, and did not fit with the rest of the play. I enjoyed the second half better than the first half, but one of my favorite bits was the bar scene with Gaston. The dancing there was cool. I expected better dancing during Be Our Guest--they almost looked like they were scared to fall of of the dishes stairway. Still, overall they did a very good job, and I bought a pin to commemorate the experience. I would definitely recommend it, but remind the person that it might not match up to the movie. Every second, you are subconciously comparing the play and film in your head. Still, thumbs up.

One more thing--we heard after we saw it that the actor who plays (or played) the Beast just got accused of sexual harassment. Does anyone have any information?
