I'm not looking for a debate here but I'm curious as to what size of resale contracts other DISer's may have been able to purchase or sell? I may be interested in a small resale contract for an add-on but I haven't seen anything less than 100 points. Has anyone else been able to purchase resale less than 100 points? :wave2:

Yes, you can find resales that range from 25 points and up. I purchased a 40 point OKW contract last year. However, these smaller contract go quick, so if you are looking for a certain number of points at a certain DVC, you need to get on a call list with a reseller. Usually by the time the smaller contracts get posted on the Internet, they are already pending.

Hi. We just purchased 80 points at OKW. Passed ROFR in May. Closed the end of June.

We have purchased 2 Seperate 30 point HH contracts thru
The Timeshare Store
It was a Great experience both times!

I've seen everything from 30 points on up to over 1000 for resale. We purchased 175 points through resale.

It's possible, but takes a bit of time. They go quick.

It took us two tries to get a small contract. First one was ROFR'd by Disney for 50 at OKW. Second one was 50 at HHI, which we got.

Give it a try. We dealt with the Timeshare Store, and it was a good experience. It took us a month to close and get in the Disney system.

At least it looks like it is possible to buy a smaller contract. I emailed the timeshare store and I was told they will let me know if anything comes in. I'm beginning to wonder if I would be better off just purchasing additional points through DVC. Is there really much cost savings for resale (vs SSR through DVC)?

For a small contract, there might not be that much difference. DVC still pays closing costs, but at resale you would probably have to pay that. For a 25 point contract, so if closing costs were $400, that would be equivalent to another $16/point.

With DVC you'll get current years points. A resale contract may not have that, and may even have borrowed points already used. In extreme cases points wouldn't be available until 2008.

If you got resale and it wasn't the same use year you already have, it becomes a totally separate MASTER contract, not an ADD-ON contract. It must be totally managed separately from your current contract. Points are not combined when determining banking percentages, and points cannot be combined to make a reservation. (With an Add-On contract, you can combine points any way you want to in order to make a reservation)

Give Tom at TTS a call and see what's available, then compare that to purchasing directly from Disney.
