Not sure if this is really the place to ask, but I have seen several other posts about Great Wolf Lodge and other parks here...

I'm planning to take my DD to Six Flags, but I'm really only familiar with Disney and they just seem rather vague on certain things on the website. They state no food/coolers can be brought into the parks. We would like to bring a hydration backpack-- does that count as "food"? Also it states that you can't have any loose articles on the rides. I'm assuming you can't take a backpack on the rollercoasters. Do they have lockers that are easy to get to? or are they all in one location at the park? And is it expensive to rent a locker?

It will just be my older DD and I (no little ones or strollers), so maybe I should just wear a fannypack (it does state those are permitted on the rides) with a camera and my wallet to keep things simple. I did want to be a little more stylish and also have room to bring sweaters if it gets cold in the evening. :confused3

Are you talking about Six Flags Great Escape? I am not sure what a hydration pack is but you can bring in water bottles to refill or an unopened bottle of water, we do this every visit. We usually just put our backpack in the stroller but I remember there is lockers in the middle of the park before you get into the water park. We get Six FLags season passes every year, so we go frequently. Its definitly not Disney but we have fun, and its much cleaner than Six Flags Great Adventure!!!!

Not sure about that exact park but we went to Six Flags New England (MA) last week and it was not an issue to bring food/drinks into the park even though it does say on the signage not to. We did not hide or sneak it in, I had 1 bag with out towels, etc. for the water park and a 2nd bag with water bottles, dole fruit cups, and snacky foods like PB crackers and such. They checked both bags and said nothing. I think that while they prefer you do not bring food items in so you purchase their over priced stuff (and we still did) that they will welcome any business because their #'s are down for the year. We have brought beverages in before as well and have never had an issue. The lockers are usually near the entrance and near the water park and in MA anyway they ranged from $12, $15, and $20 depending on size. You did get some sort of promotional thing (coupons I think) when you turned in your key. While you cannot bring bags onto coasters, they did have a bag area to leave your things while on the ride. It was usually opposite (where you got off the ride) of where the line is and could only be reached by people exiting the ride so chances of someone else taking it were small. I pocketed any money and my camera for those cases just to be sure. Things like the bumper cars, log flume, and other rides I was able to take my bag with me without issue. Again, I know it is not the NY park but hopefully this helps some.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, we're planning to go to the Great Escape one that's near Lake George. I don't really know anyone who has been, so I'm hoping it will be fun.

I know the Disney website says you can't bring in food, but they don't enforce this policy. But, I didn't want to try to bring in something for water and then be told no and have to pay for bottled water all day...

Maybe I'll rent a locker for our extra clothes and just carry the fannypack around the park with our essential items.

Definitly no food allowed in but there is a picnic area in the parking lot if you want to do that. A bottled Water is fine. They also have a drink container you can buy for I think 7.99 and get it refilled all day for 1.00+tax, we do this and all share it sometimes. Have fun, there is really good coupon in the Lunchables box too if your looking!:)

I know that you can't bring your own food in but they do allow sealed water bottles. I have heard that if its open they make you throw it out before entering the park but I don't know how true that is.
We ate in the park and it was very expensive so if there is a picnic area in the parking lot I'd take full advantage of that.

oooh... is this coupon in all the lunchables? I've never bought them, but maybe it would be worth it. :goodvibes

We weren't going to try to bring any food-- it's just the two of us, so I thought it would be fun to buy whatever snacks she wants throughout the day. However, at disney she wore her own 2 liter hydration backpack each day and we had to refill it more than once. That would get awful expensive buying little water bottles for a couple dollars each in the park.
