Anyone else see this....Six Flags is about to file for bankrupty.
I wonder if they will close any parks?...if that will effect Disney?
Or if Disney would consider buying one or two?
It would allow them to put a foot hold in areas of the country
they are not yet right now. Like Texas.

REgional parks are not competition for Disney. Why would they spend scarce cash on ill-conceived, worse managed, falling down Six Flags parks?

Six Flags is not bankrupt! They are in financial trouble but spreading rumors like you are does not help anybody. It's like yelling fire in a crowded theater, you create panic and it doesn't help anything.

People making statements like you are will just contribute to their downfall by convincing possible ticket buyers not to buy tickets! You should only make statements when they are true, not when they are speculation or possible results of difficulties.

I think Six Flags has done enough damage on their own to warrent dropping ticket sales! A news item posted on a Disney board is not going to hurt them anymore they they have already hurt themselves....

This story is in fact all over the news.

And anyway, I'm sure Disney needs all the cash it has at the moment w/o throwing away the $$$ on Six Flags.

The stories in the news do not say they are bankrupt. They say they have financial problems in may be forced into bankruptcy. Starting rumors will just accelerate their possible demise. Especially in these financial times we need to help every business survive, not help kill them off.

Here's one of the stories: LA Times Article

Of course there are many others but they all say basically the same thing. Maybe you need to read the stories before you comment on them.:thumbsup2

From everything I've read and heard, Chapter 11 is pretty much an inevitability.

Not quite sure why you're jumping on people for talking about this and taking it so personally.

Regardless if they might be filing for bankruptcy or are there, I have to say that makes me a bit nervous. They must be making cutbacks somewhere, right? Is it on ride maintenance? Is it on things that we can't see? When you're dealing with a park with rides and hear bankruptcy, I wouldn't feel too safe.

Six Flags is in a completely different league than Disney- there will be no effect.

Also, remember, bankruptcy may have ZERO effect on the actual operations, it could just be a judge ruling re-organizing their debt.
