We hope to be able to watch Wishes.

Where in MK should we aim to be.

One of my concerns is MIL will not be able to stand throughout the whole thing. Are there places to sit? Suggestions?

I read about the Dessert party - but it seems you eat dessert and then go out to a standing only location. Is that accurate?

Thanks again for all the help on these boards!

I like hanging out behind Cindy's castle during Wishes. There are plenty of seats available around the carousel and Pinocchio's restaurant. As an added bonus you aren't smashed in everyone else and you can take your time getting out of the park, behind most of the crowds!
As for Dessert party, I haven't done it yet (hopefully in January!), but from what I understand you don't have to go and stand next to the railing, but your MIL's view might be limited with everyone else standing.

There is reserved seating for the dessert party, but when the fireworks begin, many people do stand at the railings for a better view. I guess it may depend where your table is. Our table was in the front row and many people near us stayed seated. If your table is in toward the back, you may need to move to the railing to see better.

I agree with a PP about being behind the castle near the carousel. We ended up there by "mistake" in 2009 one night and the fireworks started going off. It wasn't crowded at all and the fireworks were right above our head. It was the best spot ever! You can't hear the music and talking but if fireworks are what you are after then behind the castle is a great spot. And there are lots of benches around.

I don't know if these options would help, but maybe you could consider leaving the park and heading over to the Poly to sit on the beach to watch..or since you were considering paying for the dessert party, how about paying for a boat ride instead...we did the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Party and it was so much fun. There is a little party at the Contemporary and they have Mr Smee and Captain Hook to meet, snacks and drinks and then they take you out on a boat with your own pirate escort to watch the fireworks. It turned out to be the best vantage point we have ever had and you get to hear the music as it's piped into the boat. We had so much fun doing this, the pirate was funny and sang songs and got everyone involved on the boat. Hope either of these help!

we just did the dessert party in june and we loved it! however, there were only 2 of us so we were in the front row but, only a small handful of people came up to the railing that night. I was surprised how many tables stayed seated so it could be that you would have a good view from everywhere. But as far as not fighting crowds and having a chair to sit in, (plus all you can eat dessert! :scared1:) it's a really fun thing to do!

Sorry, but no.
There are very few tables in the Tomorrowland Terrace that have good fireworks views.

Hi. I would recommend a table at Sleepy Hollow. It's right over the bridge between the Hub and Liberty Square. You'll have to get there before the MSEP and park yourself. Sleepy Hollow has funnel cakes, waffles, soup, ice cream, coffee, snacks and drinks. You can watch the parade go over the bridge then watch Wishes.

You can always leave her at the table and run and get some other food in Fantasyland or Liberty Square and plan too eat your dinner there too.

My Mom has had knee surgery and has trouble after a whole day at the park. For hallowishes I asked a CM at the ice cream place if we could use a chair as my mom had knee problems. they said sure. She sat for the parade and fireworks. No problem. It was NOT crowded. It was great. My newphew in a wheel chair was with us that week. We did have problems in DHS with people pushing and leaning on his chair during the parade. He was very bothered by strangers leaning up against him. I had to tell people many many times to not touch him or the chair. While that was a bad experience they do have special wheel chair seating and she could sit comfortably in a chair.

ive done the dessert party twice. the view is just fine, some people dont want to stand so they stay seated (heard to see fireworks from the rear seating). there is a ton of railing space - more than enough for everyone there and some. you can even see the electric light parade but the view of that isnt so good. my kids love the desserts and being out of the massive swarm of people is awesome. i highly recommend.

We just got back and managed to see the fireworks twice. On Wed, June 29, we did the Dessert buffet, and just loved it! We had one of the four tables by the railing, so the view was fantastic. However very few people stood up to watch, so they must have had good views as well. I would say to call and explain the situation, they may be able to work something out with the reservation. The manager there, Andrey, was fantastic and really went out of his way to help.

The second time we saw them was Sunday July 3, and this was an example of poor planning on my part. The fireworks were fantastic, since they were showing the fourth of July special. But the crowds were impossible. We were trying to get to the Crystal Palace, but got stuck on the bridge in front of it. And I mean stuck! A solid mass of people with no room whatsoever. The people at the back wanted to get to main street, so they kept pushing, and the people at main street were trying to save their positions for the parade and would not move. So it was total gridlock for almost 1/2 hour after the fireworks. There were a few people with strollers and small children that were close to panic. We tried to help shield them, but there was little anyone could do. Finally some CM's managed to get the peole at the back to turn around and the crowd start to move back towards Frontierland. Crowds were so bad that they delayed the EP for 20 minutes or so, while they cleared the streets. And as luck would have it, the monorail system broke, so those with cars in the parking lot had real problems (we were so happy to be able to get on the bus to Pop, and just walk past the long lines for the special buses to the TTC :thumbsup2) But even at capacity crowds, it was a lot of fun, just took a little more planning! With EMH the park stayed open until 3AM, but we had to get up early to catch a morning flight, so were out before the midnight rush.

Besides the buffet, there are several restaurants that have a good view of Wishes, just be sure to make your ADR's early. IF you call and talk with the people at Disney, I sure they can work something out.

I assume that you are referring to MK area Resort restaurants not in the Magic Kingdom,
because there are no TS restaurants in MK with a clear parade view.
