How many sit ups do you do a day? I do 35 in the morning and 35 at night. I remember years ago reading in a magazine to do some in the am and some in the pm. Have been doing them ever since.

I wish I could do them! I had a surgery on my tailbone area and it hurts to do it now, too much tender scar tissue that can't take the movement. So I have to get creative when doing ab exercises.

I alternate abdominal crunches one day with back crunches the next, and something for the obliques a few times a week too. Gotta keep all those muscles strong! I'm usualy happy with 3 sets of 20.

I do a few in the morning, but they are more like crunches. I also utilize some stretching excersizes so I am not stiff throughout the day.

Me.. only one ...when I get up to get out of bed :teeth: My DS however will normaly due 4 sets of 35 crunches in the Dojo as part of the warm up for each class. He sometimes does more as at least once a week he stays and helps instruct the white belt class.

I'm sitting up at the computer....does that count?? :cool2:

I do them every other day. I'll do 25 crunches on the ball, then 15 on each side obliques, then do the bicycle and bridge. I've never had a tummy until the past couple of years...and I'm working hard to get rid of it. I have a nice little cage under that last layer of fat...One day, one day! :rotfl:

I do my crunches on my exericse ball, I use the ball as a "chair" at home and at work. so by the time the day is done, I have been known to do up to 500 crunches!! love to do them my sets I do 25 at a time

Have you tried an exercise ball instead of laying on the floor? Just a thought it might protect that area better?

Don't do them but do 30 min a day on the treadmill........okay okay o I guess I better do some crunches.............

Who does sit-ups in 2006? They're the worst you can do to your spine. I do crunches in multiple variations, I never count - I simply do as many as possible. IMHO abs and calves are the two body parts where you don't count reps - You simply do them until you can't bear the burning any longer or start using bad technique.
