Sit down! Buckle up! & Hang On! Mickeystoontown's Gang is going to Walley World! 5/15

Then, he called me old. And I called him a farthead and walked out of his office. :lmao:

Well, I'm glad to see you got that out of your system. :lmao::lmao::lmao: You and your boss are a hoot!

Universal would have been more fun I think but I totally see your reasoning. We might do Sea World 1 day but am thinking of going to Busch Gardens.

Glad the talk went well. Nice bracing him for next year already.

Scott, Mark and I went to Busch Gardens in 2008. It was NOT worth the money. Now, it could have been what they consider an off time -- "the week after Labor Day" -- but half the stuff was closed down for refurb, not working, etc. I think we only visited the Beer Garden, walked around and saw the animals and took the train or sky thing to see the animals. We much preferred Sea World.

I gotta stick up for myself AND he IS a farthead. :rotfl:

I am pretty sure that if the price went down within a month Sears will refund the difference. It wouldn't hurt to check and see. Just threaten to return it and buy it at the lower price and they will fold! :thumbsup2

Oooh, I didn't know that! I think that I'll print out the new price online and then take it out there Saturday. Like you said, it wont hurt to try. Thanks! :goodvibes

:rotfl2::rotfl2: the stories with your boss have me loling!! I'm glad it's all working out!

We absolutely love camping too! We go every year and luckily we seem to have a little one who enjoys it as well :thumbsup2

Love all your plans, I still cant believe we have the same exact dates lol! Are you guys really excited? Everyday we count down and I ask my DD Ava if she is ready to meet Mickey for her birthday? And she says "Yes. Mickey mooousee and cake!" :rotfl: We can't wait!

I have no idea why he was being such a baby about my vacation dates this year.:confused3

Ahh, another camping lover! I think it's great that you're little one enjoys it too.

Heck yeah, we are excited! it sounds like Ava is ready to get the birthday party going!:clown:

Busch Gardens used to have commercials on all the time but I haven't seen any this year. :confused3

Oh yeah, he's already been told that next year will be the biggie!

Kathy, it's a good thing that I've known my boss for almost 30 years. Otherwise, I'd never be able to overlook a lot of his grumpiness. :faint:

I am so glad that's over with! ::yes::

You totally crack me up. It' like talking with Skip, scary because of his reaction. He pitches a fit, and some times we go without talking for afew days. All usually is fine in the end. I just think he should get over it at this point in time. He won't be changing my mind, he never has in the past. :rotfl2:

I skimmed over everything I have had to catch up on but I don't blame you for settling on Seaworld! That would be my choice also! and the driving is so super easy!!!! When I had the conference last November at The Peabody (but we stayed at All-Star Music) we drove past it every time and to the Peabody the drive time was about 15 minutes. We were going in morning rush hour traffic time (7:30-8:30) and while there was traffic, I have driven in Monroe and add a few lanes, it was fine! We even commented how much we wished driving in Jackson was like that everyday! I think I had read other people saying similar things when you first posted that but I agree! I also agree....I am so into letting those Disney bus drivers handle all of that driving business! I deal with Jackson crazies every day and this is my vacation!! :rotfl2:

I think you will enjoy POFQ...especially after staying at CBR I have something to compare it to. They are different but I think you will appreciate the differences...you may still love CBR 100% more but I know you will enjoy POFQ! However....the beignets are NOT real beignets and I was so disappointed. If you have ever eaten at Cafe Du Monde then they are not good....but then you said you weren't crazy about them anyhow, right? :scratchin I was disappointed in all of the "New Orleans" style food and will not order that style food again. Had I not eaten in NOLA a bizzillion times, it would have been good but not since I love New Orleans cuisine as I do!!

I am glad your boss took it well! My stereotyped imagination of him is too funny!! You have created quiet the picture in my mind!! :rotfl: We have friends from Monroe going roughly that same time. I can't remember the date they decided to arrive. It is their first trip and they are taking their 9 year old daughter. I am as excited for them as I think they are!!

It isn't long now!!!! :cool1:

Now that you said it, it does remind me of your conversations with Skip. :rotfl: I had finally reached the "to heck with it" point and took the bull by the horns.

Thanks for the reassurances on the driving! It's good to hear from somebody that has driven on the same road/driving conditions that I am used to.

I've always stayed away from ordering "Louisiana" foods when I am not in Louisiana. They never taste like real Louisiana foods.

My boss reminds me of a mix of these two:

I have read your reports for a couple of years, although I have never commented. They are always entertaining. I hope you have a wonderful trip! I look forward to reading more.

Love the boss story. My next trip is over a year away and ive already started talking about it to my boss.

Back from our trip and catching up. (Ok, I've been back since Saturday and it has taken me this long to catch up!)

I used your backsacks several times -- they were great for carrying the raincoats. I only have one picture of me wearing one -- and it happens to be under the raincoat I was wearing. I moved it to the front when I wore the raincoat. I had several inquiries --you should enclose business cards or something when people order them from you. I just told people to go to the Disboards and look up Mikeystoontown.

We stayed at POFQ as usual. DH loves the beignets (but he's never had a "real" one, so doesn't know the difference). Our room was probably the closest room to the food court. 5101. He had a beignet nine mornings out of our ten there.

Thanks for commenting! I love to hear from others! Another update is coming up soon.

Oh I talk to the boss all the time about our trip and he knows that we are going. It's just that he likes to keep his head in the sand about when we are going back. Keep reminding that boss of your's so he/she can't say that you didn't tell 'em.;)

Welcome home!

How neat that people asked where you got the backsacks! Thanks for the referrals. :woohoo: I hadn't thought about putting a business card in my backsacks when I ship them.

Your husband really enjoyed the beignets if he ate them almost every morning.

Grill me something Mister!

Every year, I go to Allearsnet and print out menus from restaurants that we may want to try or go back to. And, every year, John looks at the stack and says Seriously? We have to do this again?. The man likes to eat but he doesnt like deciding where to eat. Ive told this story before but Ive always said that if I were to ever open a restaurant/diner, Im going to name it It Doesnt Matter or Wherever. Why would I want to name them that? :confused3 Well, think about it. When you and the family are trying to decide where to go out and eat, you always say where do yall want to go? And, almost every single time, somebody is going to say It doesnt matter or Wherever. Why not name a restaurant/diner It Doesnt Matter or Wherever.

Anyway, we went through the restaurant menus, made our choices and I made ADRs. About a month ago, there was a conversation about our upcoming trip that went a little something like this:

John: Hey Sweetie Britches. Are we eating at that place where they bring out all of the meat on the big ole skewers?

Me: Ohana?

John: I dont know what its called. You know that place where they roll those coconuts around on the floor and the guy plays the ukelali.

Me: Thats Ohana and it didnt make the ADR cut.

John: What do you mean it didnt make the cut?

Me: You chose The Wave over Ohana.

John: What the heck is The Wave? Ive never heard of it.

Me: Youve heard of it. You looked at the menus and it was your choice.

John: Why cant we eat at both?

Me: Are you kidding me? Do you know how hard it is to get an ADR at Ohana? Those suckers are snapped up lickedy split.

John: I got faith in you Sweetie Britches, you can do it. Work your Mickeystoontown magic!

Me: Mickeystoontown Magic my big ole butt! I bet that Ill come up emptyhanded but Ill try.

That very night I started playing around on the computer and, sure enough, not a single Ohana ADR was available. :sad2: Not one to give up though, I went to work the next day and tried again. Still nothing. :headache: Me, being the stubborn woman that I am, tried again right before lunch and bada bing bada boom, there was an ADR for 8:05 p.m. Boy did I do some fast clicking on the computer before somebody else snapped it up. :woohoo:

John called at lunchtime like he does every day and I told him that I was able to find a dinner reservation and it was at a good time too. Wed have plenty of time to go to Sea World (or do whatever else we wanted to do had we not decided on Sea World) and still not have to rush too much.

John: See, Sweetie Britches, I told you that you could work that Mickeystoontown Magic and find us a reservation. Now we can stuff ourselves silly at...at...whats the name of that restaurant again?

Me: Ohana

John: Ohana? I thought we were eating at The Wave.

Me: Shut yo mouth!

And, that my friends, is the story of how our dinner ADR at Ohana came about. Sea Worlds website says that it closes at 6:00 p.m. and our ADR is at 8:05 p.m. Im thinking that well have plenty of time to get back to the resort and freshen up before catching a bus to the Magic Kingdom and hopping either the monorail or boat over to the Polynesian.

We are all looking forward to the delicious Ohana food. Last time we were there, Hunter wasnt too pleased with the offerings but, since then, hes broadened his horizons and will eat steak so Im sure that hell be fine. If not, well grab him a pizza or something when we get back to the resort.

Just looking at the pictures of the Ohana food has my mouth drooling!

If we are lucky, well be able to finish up our meal and waddle out to the Polynesian beach and watch Wishes! and maybe even the electrical parade. If we dont finish up in time, we may still be in the restaurant and watch the fireworks from the restaurant like we did a few years back. No matter what, Im sure that the evening will end on a good note.

**Up next: Hunters Sweet 16 and Pulling an All Nighter at the Magic Kingdom!

I have always wanted to try ohana, but we haven't had the chance! Now it looks even more appetizing! Hopefully i will get to try it someday!

Note to self: Next time...don't read mickeystoontown's ADR update when you are staving...I think I drooled on my keyboard at the sight of the noodles from Ohana. I think I ate my weight in noodles last time I was there!!! :lmao::lmao:

Your teaser for your next update also has me jealous! We are just missing the all-nighter by a few days! Lisa, my dear, you have all the luck!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I love those noodles. I would be perfectly happy to eat noodles, wings, salad, broccoli, and shrimp. Oh yeah - and dessert!

Way to snag a reservation Lisa! :rotfl: Your conversations with John are always so comical. :rotfl:

I really enjoy Ohana, but the last few times, we've been stuck at a table in the back room. I dislike it so much because I feel like we are missing everything.

I tried to tell them we would wait for a table in the main room last time and the girl at the check-in desk told me that they didn't take those requests, so we got stuck in the back room again.

But we really enjoy the food, so I'm sure we will eat there again sometime.

And good job working your magic! My DH loves to ask me to try to change ADRs all the time and usually at the last minute.

LOL! I love your conversations with John! :rotfl:

I have only done 'Ohana for breakfast. I wanted dinner because the menu looks fabulous, but the boys wanted characters so breakfast it was!
