Not exactly an A-List cast but I guess it’s nice to see Jussie Smolette finally getting off the unemployment rolls.

I have been very surprised at who has gone far and who has not.

we have as well. it's interesting how some of the people you would imagine would be eliminated very quickly rise to the challenge and do very well whereas the very fit and athletic types can struggle with it.

They are treated like they are training to be part of the special forces team. So in a way, I guess, it would be like bootcamp but with challenges that are what the special forces team would do. The only way you leave is if you quit or you get hurt (or your body just can't do it any longer). I have watched the other seasons and it is pretty good. I have been very surprised at who has gone far and who has not.


No, I have seen older and not in shape on the show before. The first season they had Kate Gosselin and Dr. Drew. Another season they had Bob Saget's wife, Kelly Rizzo, was on and did really good.


I thought the same thing as soon as I saw it yesterday.

Maybe in Kody's mind he's doing it for Garrison who passed away? On the other hand, maybe it's a way to make money to pay his exes their share of Coyote Pass

I'm sure they are going to play up this angle since he was in the military. I hope Kody can actually grow through this experience and realize how he can be a better father to all his kids. It will be interesting to hear what his excuses are when he has to bail out.

Kody has had more than a year since Garrison's passing to step up and be a better father. So far there hasn't been any indication he's doing anything differently. For example, why did Christine even have to file for child support last fall? Why didn't he step up and set up a fair settlement on his own?

the rumor-mill is saying that kody was court ordered to pay back child support of over $100K (no reports of monthly ongoing obligation) so since it's been reported that the participants of special forces get paid a flat amount no matter how long they stay on the show maybe kody is planning to keep his stay on the show relatively short so as not to leave poor defenseless robyn and company alone too long.

Anyone watch the new season? I just saw the episode and I can see Kody doing quite a bit to remedy his image. He is acting more contrite now.

And it was heartbreaking to see how upset Maddie is to not have her Dad in her life.

This was all filmed over a year ago. Judging by real time social media reports from his kids, he has done nothing to remedy those relationships. It was all talk. Him trying to revive his image.

agreed... I should have said "acting" more contrite as we know he isn't actually contrite. Or if he is it has more to do with how bad he looks than how bad he feels.

Yes I watched it. Meri IMO should be more like Janelle and skip the speed dating and wait for the right person to enter her life through her new church or friends. She may only attract those guys who know who she is and be in it to see if they too can "be on TV".

Kody made a snide comment if I remember correctly that they let slip into the final cut. He can't seem to get it into his head why the ex-wives don't want to talk with him.

that maniacal laughing he did at the end of the episode was disturbing.

It helped him pay the $50,000 charitable contribution he was required to pay to resolve the lawsuit brought by the city of Chicago for filing false police reports.

I really enjoyed Christine’s book. She obviously is a wonderful mom to all the kids, and has portrayed the other wives with generosity and grace. She deserved her happy ending, and I wish her all the love in the world with her new life. I hope Janelle will write her book next!! The two women really seem to be kindred spirits who have developed a lovely bond after a rocky start.
