Sister Wives

The more babies, the more Heaven! Thing is your average Mormon family regularly can beat that percentage wise with ONE wife so in that sense, big L there.

According to her ex she had/has a huge shopping addiction. Remember all the debt she had coming into the whole thing? It tracks with her not letting people into the house but you can see boxes stacked inside through the windows. They have paintings in that house worth thousands. Plus they’re “broke” for people who have their own show. Add in Kody’s penchant for expensive things and not having a real job and you have a recipe for burning the whole thing down which they’ve done. There are also sources that say she targeted the Browns when she found out they were getting a show, driving five hours out of her way to attend a dance so she could “bump” into them. How much of that is true and how much is speculation I don’t know. What I do know is that she has gaslighted her own kids and goes out of her way to play the victim. I used to defend her but the more I pay attention the more I see her. These “divorces” and the older kids going no contact are all about how she feels. I haven’t seen her express any empathy for the other wives or any of those kids.
I've been listening to recaps of the early seasons. There were plenty of hints back then as well. Most significantly the fact that she didn't want to leave the kids with any of the other sister wives. It started with the 11 day honeymoon while Christine was home with 6 kids, including a newborn.

I can imagine it must be painful for Gabe or Savannah to see Robyn's girls and know that those girls see their (as in Gabe and Savannah's) biological Dad daily yet they rarely hear from him.

Really it's now just like a divorce where the Dad remarried and started a new family.

Good dads will work to merge families. My mom always chose her new family over myself and my sister. She was shaping up to be a pretty good grandma to our kids and then my brothers started having kids and she dumped them like hot potatoes. I think that’s why I got so emotional watching that episode. As a mother I can’t wrap my head around ever walking away from my kids.

yes I should have added - "started a new family and ignored the old one". It's sad.

I think now she is a huge part of the problem, yes. But I'm not so sure she was in the beginning.

After the whole kitncaboodle started coming apart at the seems she dug in to try to salvage what was there in very unproductive and unhelpful ways.
She had the potential to be a 4th victim of the narcissist, instead she's the head flying monkey.

When the kids were talking, I found it very telling. Kids know. They know who has shown up for them…Who has supported them.

Was it Garrison who said that Robyn used Covid to be exclusive with Kody and now she’s playing the victim? He nailed it!

In my view, that’s exactly what happened.

Every time Kody goes into his whole spiel about how it’s Christine’s fault, the kid’s fault, Janelle’s fault, it’s classic abuser style, “Look what YOU made me do?”

Every one of the adult children will be better off for going no contact with him. What do they gain from a relationship with him?

Why the heck would Robyn need to be in on the kid's Christmas exchange text?

Her older girls could have handled the gifts for their younger siblings.

The adult Brown kids are sensible and could figure out how to do it.

It really struck me to see how Janelle and Christine's kids did want contact with their siblings and were emotionalabout it.

I really think she just couldn't have her older kids in touch with the other kids. They might actually become friends again and see through her game.

They’d actually know they don’t want to be around their dad and that they don’t hate them. Imagine if the kids found out their siblings want to see them at the holidays but they can’t go over because of their father….and Robyn.

I feel like they’re going to see the clips in the future and that’s going to make them want to ask their sibs about it. You can’t hide that kind of toxicity forever. These kids have one foot in the real world by going to public school while the others didn’t, eventually they’re going to see how Kody and Robyn manipulated their point of view.

I really struggle to not be unkind about Robyn's looks, but her facial bone structure looks like a fist and it's definitely gotten worse with age, probably because she frowns so often. Gwen likes to say the other wives have gotten a "glow up" since the show started but Robyn looks more and more weathered and tired every year.

I finally watched this weeks episode. Some of my thoughts:

Garrison has Robyn all figured out.

Gabe is so hurt. Gwen got a little choked up too but held back.

Robyn's daughters..........wow. My SO barely watches. He's in the room and will peak up at times. When he heard crying he popped up and said "Sobbyn Robyn is at it again." I said no that's her daughter! He was all  and so was I. They look and act just like her. Wow.

Very interesting that Gabe speaks to Aurora when he sees her and talks to her and tells her he loves her yet the girls may not think something is up.

Seeing Garrison hurt over not seeing his siblings was sad.

when this was spoken of and gabe said they hug each other dh and i were wondering out loud how kody would react upon finding out his closely held covid protocol is being violated by one of his 'loyal children' o_O . i feel for robyn's kids. they have to be in a hard place-they live very isolated lives (at least aurora is able to attend college on campus now), likely have to constantly hear kody's rants and only being told via the robyn/kody filter of the reason their siblings have limited to no contact with them. there has to be a fear factor in place for them (the older ones) watching this play out-their bio dad willingly gave up all parental rights to them when kody adopted and now they are witnessing how easily kody will cut all ties with his own bio kids (and threaten those children's moms if they do not support him by estranging their own children as well). scary situation to be in😡. maybe the girls will move on eventually but kody and robyn already have one college grad adult living on the property in a trailer (dayton)-with all those lots at coyote pass in their possession they could set up their own mini compond.

Two key sentences tonight: Christine said “Robyn has leverage” when it came to celebrating Easter when they were never allowed to before she came into the family.
And when Kody said “he met his soul mate” when discussing Robyn. They kind of sums it all up and doesn’t leave much room for other wives.

Especially when he describes the other wives as "situations".

I thought his remark about Robyn being his “soulmate“ (or maybe the “love of his life” - doesn’t matter - same thing) validated everything Christine and Janelle have been saying and feeling for the last few years. I think Janelle (might have been Christine, can’t remember) said that polygamy only works when the husband doesn’t have a favorite wife. Kody has always been my least favorite member of this family, but I find it very difficult to listen to him these days. He has become VERY unlikeable. Meri, Janelle and Christine are all way better off without him. How he treats his older children is despicable to me.

When he can no longer control and manipulate people, they become useless to him. That is what happens to narcissists when their scapegoats wise up. Narcissists NEVER change, it's their circle of people that changes until they find people that slot in and behave.

Gabe seems to be a very sensitive soul. While Garrison is going to rant that they don’t need them anyway (a defense response for sure), Gabe doesn’t want doesn’t want Robyn’s kids to feel the way he does so he’s quietly letting them come to him. That’s how it strikes me anyway.

Their bio father claims he was strong armed into giving up his rights with the promise that he would still be able to see them but then was cutoff once the adoption went through. I tend to believe that given that you heard about visits to him before the adoption and none after. Still there’s NOTHING that would ever make me give up my rights to my kids so in that sense he holds responsibility there, even if it’s from naivety.

I agree 100% with everything else you’ve said. Those kids are going to be in for quite a shock when the real inevitably comes crashing in and Robyn and Kody will pay the ultimate price for the sham world they raised them in.
