Sister Wives

I would only feel bad for her if she was really so brain washed that she actually feels a need to "apologize" to her 2nd husband who has 3 other wives. Did you see her daughters (probably around 10) face...she looked terrified for her mom...just totally nuts.

Agree. That was an entirely ridiculous and melodramatic "lesson." I understand the purity aspect but with all those girls, to be realistic, at least some of them will have premarital relationships. Giving them a speech about years of shame they should feel could be damaging.

If she wanted to do a purity lesson,
Focusing on the positives would have been a better route.

Her actual "talk" was far less TV time than re-running the snipets about it over and over and over. Tonight's episode had too much fill and very little substance, IMHO.

(..... and that says a lot because this particular show is already lacking substance..... )

Yet, it is a train wreck that I continue to watch.popcorn::

I'm still an episode behind. All I can say is THANK the high heavens Meri and Mariah are finally in their house. I just couldn't take any more of the incessant WHINING! If they really are just one big family they would just move into one of the other houses anyway and not need to have 5 bedrooms to themselves, with one of them probably on their way out the door.

Interesting that someone would say the episode I haven't seen yet was low on substance. With them all in their houses, there doesn't seem to be much drama left to unfold. I wonder what they will come up with to fill the coming shows?

I guess we'll go back to Meri whining about the baby decision? We all know she's not going to. She seems pretty set in her ways. I just don't see her adding that degree of disruption to her life.

I would imagine Meri feels inadequate to some degree because she was unable to have multiple children. But at her age, and with a daughter going to college, why would you want to start all over. She should have done the fertility treatments 15 years ago.

I'm a few weeks behind, but I just can't stand how Robyn has her older kids call Kody, "Dad" uh...he's not their dad, and they have a dad that they go see on a regular basis.

I'm sure it'll be baby mama drama... Wish they would hurry up & get over that one. It's been a cliff hanger for a couple years now.

About the teens tho, I really like Logan. He's so cute & seems like he kinda has some sense. Christine & Janelles daughters seem more normal than Mariah. When they asked about dating, I thought what boy would date Mariah if he has seen her whiny self on the show, lol.

And yes, it is a show I love to hate, lol.

The thing that really bothered me about Robyn's talk was the focus on the girls being pure....what about the boys :confused3. Shouldn't the gift of purity as she calls it be given by both parties....it really bugged me that the focus was on the girls.

In polygamy the guy can't give his "purity" since he may already have other wives.

In the last episode, the one at Christmas when they were moving into the houses, didn't Robin take her kids to go live with their bio dad? I thought last season they said her kids would be with their dad for a year? How are they in this recent episode?

What bothered me was the way she was telling her story in the third person at times and then her dramatics with the heart key chain (or whatever it was) ... I think she was also confusing for the younger kids and also scaring some of them ...

I think she took them to their bio dad's during Christmas for a visit ... However, last year, I think she said that when her kids turned a certain age that they could decide to go live with their bio dad if they wanted ... but I could be mistaken ... I usually tune Robin out because I can't stand how she always turns on the tears whenever she speaks  ... :)

Robyn's story...eww.

I think that it's strange that she doesn't mention the fact that the guy who "took her purity" is from one of the most well-known polygamist families. She makes it sound like she deserted her faith and hooked up with some random guy. I also think it's probably misleading to say he "only wanted one thing" given that he was married to her for a number of years. Most of all, that's a pretty messed up way to portray your relationship with their father to your children. Ugh.

Wow ... that's exactly how she made it sound ... remarkable how she left out the rest of the story  ...

I hate this show because every time I watch it I find Kody and the wives very likeable and it all seems so normal to me. I feel like they are the exception to the rule and not the rule.

Ugh...Janelle and Christine are the only ones I can stand, the rest of them I just want to punch. Especially Robyn and that stupid closed mouth weird smile/cry thing she does.

But... But... What did she ever do to you?

i wasn't sure if i wanted to be angry at Robyn or feel bad for her.

i get that she regretted having sex before marriage but....to sit there and talk about the guy "stealing" it from her? from the way she made it sound, it sounded like she was a willing participant, no? "stealing" would mean that she wasn't willing and well...that's a whole other ball game there. so she really confused me there.

i also wonder how the other wives feel about the fact that she has children by 3 different men. i'm not judging here at all, i could care less, but within their faith i would assume that's a big red flag.

i felt bad for some of the kids. they clearly weren't excited and some of them looked downright afraid of her story.

i thought the same thing, her daughter is on the way out of the house...why would you want to start all over again? but as you said, she probably feels bad that she can't have more kids and knows Kody wants more.

i think she said they tried some type of fertility treatments before. i believe it was the first season Kody asked her if she'd try and she said "why bother again?" or something along those lines.

i said the same thing to DH last night while we were watching!!

apparently it's different for the boys. but then again they're expected to have multiple wives so i think there's the loophole.
