Sister Wives, anyone???

I think the drama with Robyn's dress was twofold. First, they picked out a dress together without input from other wives. Also, both wife #2 and #3 mentioned in this episode that they felt that a wife joining a plural marriage shouldn't have a lavish wedding. They both had simple dresses (at least one was not white) and a family dinner. Also, Robyn is divorced and I know many people who have a more low key wedding second time. I wonder if the tv show is picking up the tab for this event? Also, I wonder how much the show has to do with the timing of another wife? Robyn can't be the only single woman they have ran into.

BK likes the way she looks so he was interested in her dress- he's showing off. Like I said before, I wish the other 3 would ditch his butt.

I admit I watched all the episodes (there were only like 8 -- short season). I was curious because we are big fans of Big Love on cable. And since that is a "show", I wanted to watch a real family living this life. On Big Love he has three wives. Tried to bring a fourth one in, but the intended wife suddenly realized this was not for her and wasn't willing to share. They show jealousies, in-fighting, the usual.

However, on Sister Wives, I thought it was ABUNDANTLY clear on each and every episode that the wife who was pregnant (and had the baby in one of the last shows) has some huge insecurity issues and was visually upset about bringing in the fourth wife. And on each show, when they have their couch sessions, there is at least one wife who expresses unhappiness at what they are getting from him as opposed to all that he gets!

My daughter watched last night's two finale shows and she thought he was acting like a 12-year-old boy getting a new toy with that fourth wife, and I have to admit I agree. He was so childish and immature! I don't know what they even see in him frankly

Meri has mentioned a few times that she has some issues with jealousy but that it is her problem she needs to work through.

Personally I think her feelings are very normal. If I were in my 40's (I am) and had been married for 20 years and my husband brought a younger woman into the mix there would be huge issues. I find it interesting that Meri can come out and talk about jealousy but that it is seen as her problem. I don't see BK doing much to make her feel secure. It's almost like this new wife is being thrown in their faces with the wedding etc. All the women are supposed to suck it up and welcome "trophy wife" with open arms.

Janelle doesn't come across as very jealous to me. I sometimes even wonder if she even gives a hoot at all. I don't see what looks like true affection or closeness with any of the wives. It's almost a business relationship.

What happens when Robyn's lustre wears and she isn't producing the kids like he wants? Does he go out and find another younger wife?

I just wonder why he married the 4th wife - Robyn - when they all seemed so happy and the 3 original wives seemed so uncomfortable with it. It just seemed very selfish on his part!

If you watched all the shows, he came across like a 12-year-old kid in a candy store every dang time he talked about "dating" Robyn. It was sickening. Not sure why they couldn't just do a show about their life and style without bringing in a courtship too.

When he was doing the mating dance around her and her kids, I thought it was shameful. I know we only saw six hours of their lives, but it just seemed to me that the other three wives were already being kicked to the curb.

And what a sleezy thing to do -- have all the wives go with her to have a day shopping for a wedding dress and then to announce his "big secret" that he had picked out the dress all along. As was mentioned previously, all the wives were extremely hurt and felt slighted. Christine actually disconnected her microphone and walked off the set! On top of that, seems like only the 1st wife and Robyn had honest-to-goodness weddings and full receptions. The two middle wives had "dinners" and small ceremonies. Plus she got a whole house to herself - no sharing!!!!!

Robyn just turned 30 and I'm sure will be his new favorite. She'll get him every 4th night! YUCK. I like in the intro show when they were giving a tour of the three wives' house, he made sure to mention he does not have one place or room to his own -- all his stuff is spread among the three apartments. Oh, my heart aches for him :lmao::happytv:

I watched 4 episodes last night including the season finale. Disgusting. Simply put. The whole discussion about whether or not Robyn could see him every fourth night beacuse they were only engaged??!?!? Seriously, to share your husband??? To share him with 2 other women??? To share him with his fiance???? Disgusting.

Where are they going to put Robyn? Did they ever say anything about that? It seems the rest of the house is spoken for

This guy skeeves me out.

me too!

This show made me appreciate my dh even more than I already had. I am blessed to have a man that is committed to just me and treats me like a princess and not just a baby machine(though I am one but it's our choice)

Meri and Kody went to Mexico and they were filmed discussing her insecurities and how much he loved her. So I think he does do something about it.

Janelle does not seem jealous. But she is a career women while Meri has lost her job due to the show and is also studying to start a career. Perhaps Janelle is a more confident person. She was confident enough to marry Kody despite all her family and friends alienating her.

She LOST her job because of this show. She told Oprah last week that after MANY years with this company, she understood. The company just said they could no longer keep her there while she did the show. :sad1: Meri teared up and Oprah said to her that this appears to really upset you and she nodded, wiping tears from her face. :sad1:

I did google and found that out after I posted. Wonder if she has found a new job yet.

Either add on or get a big house--Christine said something about everyone living in a big house. She's kind of hard to follow.

I feel for Robyns kids especially the one who is autistic. So much has changed in their lives and so fast. I mean being thrown into a large family that has 1 dad and 4 wives has got to be hard for them

I have to admit, I'm a bit late to the discussion regarding this show ... however, I think I caught up on most of the episodes during yesterday's re-run marathon of them before the seaon finale ...

ITA that Kody acts very childish and immature and I have no clue what these women see in him, or his hair , for that matter  ...

I also tend to think that wife #4 is going to add some definite drama & conflict to the family ... I don't know what it is, there's just something about her that I find a bit manipulating or phoney maybe? :scratchin ... for example, when she admitted kissing Kody after they got engaged, which is supposedly a big no-no, and she said that she felt "sorry" about it - I didn't really buy it ... then when she had Kody help choose her wedding gown without the sister wives knowing and then got pretty upset when Kody told them - I didn't know they were supposed to keep secrets from each other to begin with? ... and even when the sister wives gave her the ring at the reception - I just didn't think that her tears were very genuine ...

I kind of feel bad for the 1st wife ... she just seems sad to me and I wonder why she encouraged Kody to take a 4th wife in the first place, because wasn't she the one who introduced Kody to the 4th? ...

I don't know, but now that this family has put themselves in the "spotlight" it'll be interesting to see if they get everything that they were hoping to get out of it ... something tells me, maybe not ...

I asked this earlier, but didn't get a response... does anyone know if one of the wives can veto adding a new wife to the family? Is this mentioned in the show at all? I'm just thinking about the one who is a SAHM, who apparently gets new children (including a special needs child) added to her care whether she likes it or not. Was she allowed to say no?

I just found the show last night also. What I found strange was that one wife was driving an older car with tape on the driver's side window, but the husband is driving this expensive convertible. Ummm, not too fair.

I have to admit, reading your posts, you guys are a lot more tolerant and accepting of other people's values than I am. I haven't watched the show, but I watched Oprah and read the article in People magazine.

It's just pure brainwashing sick to me...I can't believe the kids have not been removed. I just hate it. It's too weird, although I admit I have serious issues with the Mormon religion anyway, but this is too much. The guy is crazy, and the women are even crazier, and the kids are the victims.

I think the government should step in. I can't believe that the government returned all those kids to the fundamentalist cult a few years back either. It just makes me sick.

This family has no resemblance to any Mormon families I know. This is a group removed from the current LDS church. Do you have problems with other religions, like Baptists or Presbyterians? I watched the show, and I think it is weird. It isn't a way I would ever live or hope my children would live. But I kind of feel like the government has bigger problems to deal with than this. At least I hope they do.....national security, the economy.....

It seemed to me like they all discussed it, but I think what the man says goes. All the women shared concerns, but he married her anyway. They never said "no" but I get the sense it wouldn't have mattered.

Kody needs a haircut before they make another season. I think the first episode said he sold ads? Is that right? I wouldn't buy anything from him. Blech. I think he is stealing the girl's Clairol.
