Couldn't agree more, seems someone likes a little drama. :scratchin Why exactly do you care what SIL has to say? Don't let her opinions or anyone elses influence your life direction. You and your family steer the ship. What if this group of strangers tells you, yes in fact it will spoil your child? What are you going to do, sell your DVC ? Didn't think so, so why post? Thanks JimMia for seeing through this one. :duck:
DAVE

Maybe you should think twice before posting.....I was just trying to get peoples opinions that have kids. Do you have kids Dave? I'm concerned about mine and if DVC does influence them then yes I will sell. The only reason I post here is to learn and get feedback from people that have gone through the same thing whether its getting burned by a renter or concern over my kids. Thats what forums are for, constructive feedback not crap. Yes there is a little drama, in every post even some of yours. Agree Dave, so why post!

Maybe she's jealous, you're not buying a house she can use as well, but buying DVC.... ????

We don't own DVC but do go to WDW about 30 days a year. DD, now 7, has been to WDW about 9 times so far. I have to admit that she isn't as thrilled with WDW as she used to be. She does love the place but she also loves Dutch Wonderland and the mall! She has a couple of other friends that are also Disney obsessed and they are the same way. They just think everyone goes to WDW as much as them and what's the big deal! Of course, her attitude doesn't stop me from wanting to go!

Brownie listen, Nothing in my post previously was nasty. You've raised the bar so I'll bite. I don't for one minute believe your SIL said anyhting remotely close to what you've stated. Anyone that has followed your posts sees right through this. Frowning faces and drama seem to be your tactic. I believe you have questions you want answered here. Your question is whether or not DVC will spoil your kids. YOU want opinions, fine, but don't suck us in with this STORY about your SIL. Read this person's thread with the big frowning face about renting points. I believe that scenario is hogwash as well. This new memeber is just feeling things out but feels the need to embellish there story. Yes, I do have kids, a 4 year old son. Guess what, I don't need people's opinions on this board on how to raise a decent, respectful child. I certainly won't stoop to the level of making up stories for effect. Now are you ready to sell your DVC on the chance it might spoil your child? I've never called anyone on here a liar before but there is a first time for everything. Congrats on being the first. Anything you post from now on should be scrutinized very closely. I may be nasty and opinionated but at least I'm not making up stuff to get responses. Have a great day and god bless your family. :firefight

I am almost 16 and just got back from trip number 13. I really do appreciate being able to go that much as well as the magic of it. I think what helps in that, though, is that I have friends that have never been to WDW before. Well, not anymore. They went with me last trip as it was a band trip. The most magical part of that trip was watching them enjoy it. They went from not really being EXCITED to loving the trip. They were amazed and now, I think they finally understand my love of Disney. So, I think being around people who have never been or haven't been in years really helps me appreciate the fact that I go all the time. I definitly think SIL is jealous.

I think that is silly. What about families that always camp, or always go to the beach. Is it the same theory? Lots of families have vacation traditions. Disney just happens to be yours.

Thanks to all that gave some great opinions.
And Dave thanks to you to.......goes to show that you will never know my SIL, and yes she is flamboyant and speeks well before she really should. The renter was drama, but when you work with some one for 3 days to book a ressie and finallly get what they want and guess what, no deposit. Thats frustrating and I just want to know if others had the same experience and how they have handle it. Isn't that what these boards are for, dig up some repsonses for your questions and concerns. My kids are very important to me and I want to take them down the correct path. Some of the older and more experienced DVCers that have brought up there children in the system, those are the people I was questioning.
Again thanks for all the great responses.
