sink - anyone?

When we remodeled through Home Depot - everything that was ordered was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, and you guessed it, wrong. The kitchen designer was not very experienced, and she has no clue what was going on (she did a great job of acting!)

So we ordered a really nice sink, very heavy gauge stainless steel - it was to have a larger basin on the left, and a prep sink on the right (with disposer installed below).

So the disposer switch was installed on the right, near the prep area in the kitchen.

The sink came in, and you guessed it - the prep sink was on the left - not the right.

I had designed this kitchen to fit exactly how we cook, clean, and live - so I wasn't about to toss in a horrible design flaw due to a kitchen designer's stupid mistake.

Due to the time frame of having to have the sink numbers and info to the counter top fabricator by the end of that week, I took to the internet and found my dream sink - not lying. I found it on E-Bay.

Google ... zero radius stainless steel sink

I LOVE the boxy design - we designed a very craftsman style kitchen and the boxy design and you really don't see that style of sink, so it is very distinctive. We had SO many compliments on the sink - and the BEST part of all..... the sink cost literally a thousand dollars less than the sink we had ordered at Home Depot.

I will NEVER have a top of the counter mount sink again - it is SO much easier to wipe the countertop and just sweep it ALL into the sink with an undermount sink.

The key to a stainless steel sink is the gauge/thickness of the metal - you have to have the thickest sink you can afford so it doesn't dent, ding, and scratch easily. Not to mention the thicker sink holds the heat better when filling the sink with hot water. Also, REALLY good stainless steel sinks will have sound dampening pads adhered to it so when you drop something in, it doesn't sound like the start of world war III.

We love our zero radius sink - and how unique the design looks in our kitchen!

Thanks for your replies everyone. I was wondering what color granite you have to go with the blanco sinks? I am thinking maybe brown bevcause I am getting a brown granite countertop. What do you think? Will it be too dark? Will tan be too light? Thanks.
