Single riders line

When we were there last month they closed the single riders line for ROTM. I couldn't understand what the employee gave as the reason, something about the line either being more than 60 mins or less than 60 mins. It was definitely more than 60 mins at this time. We got in the regular line and waited, when we got to the inside queue at the front of the building the single riders line was open again so we got in that and still waited 20 mins or more. (total wait was about an hour) Does anyone know why they close the single riders line? Just curious.

It closes when it fills up. When single rider lines become a longer or equal wait than the standby line, it loses its advantage of using it. Therefore, why keep singles open if it has a 60 min wait and standby has a 50 minute wait. This usually isn't a problem on any other singles line, but on ROTM, it's a relevant situation.
