Single Rider & Child Swap?

Can you combine these? I know only a few attractions have single rider, but it would be nice to not book a FP+ since ODS and the baby can't go on a couple. For instance, on Everest, can I do single rider and get a baby swap for DH? Or would he have to just get in single rider after me?

There's no need for child swap in a single rider line as people are riding alone and not with their party. Your DH would simply do single rider after you.

What would be the advantage of getting a rider switch pass? Seems to me you would both just use the single rider. No need for a fp+ for anyone.

On EE, there really is no need to do a child swap. The SR line is usually just as quick as the FP line. For RnR or TT, I would consider one of you getting a FP for that and then using child swap and not using the SR lines. These SR lines can be a bit longer, especially mid-day so the FP lines would probably be a little quicker.

Because if her DH can use a rider swap pass he can use the FP line instead of the single rider. The FP line is usually much faster.

I don't really know the answer to your question, because I've never tried.

Most reports I read are that the single rider line is often faster. I've never done it before, so I can't say yes or no to it. We also don't do single rider much so I'm not very familiar with that either, but this idea intrigues me so....

When you think about it-Don't you move from the standby line to the single rider line at some point after you entered standby? And if you're going to ride standby and get a rider switch, don't they just put the riders with the rider switch pass in the stand by line? If so, then seems to me you would just ask the CM for a rider switch pass- The person riding first in the single rider line would get in standby and ride as they normally would. The second person would use the switch pass and get in the fp+ line.

In other words, it's using a rider switch with the first set of people riding standby- that they switch over to single rider doesn't change anything in regards to getting the switch pass.

Or am I totally wrong about how the stand by line works?

I was curious, so I looked it up- it appears that you can do exactly that: Use the single rider line in conjunction with rider switch pass:

Question:
"Is it possible to use rider switch/baby swap in conjunction with the single-rider line for rides that have a single-rider line? Thank you!
Answer:
"Yes! You can go to the entrance of the attraction with your entire family and ask for a Rider Switch pass. Then the person getting in line can use the single rider line to get through the line faster."

You can do one or the other. The whole point of the single rider line is that you are a single person that doesn't have to ride with someone else, so they would not offer baby swap passes there because even if you entered the line together, your husband is not considered "with" you in their eyes; he is another single rider.

ETA: Once you have the switch pass, the first rider could probably enter the single rider line, but they will usually make the second rider enter the Fastpass line because that's basically what they give you.

The Disney Moms Panel doesn't always know what they are talking about, so I wouldn't necessarily trust them!

Where is it you found your information that says it can't be done? If the single rider line starts somewhere inside the ride, how would the CM at the entrance know what line you got in?

TT single rider is extremely short during the first hour or so. Much faster that FP and you can walk right past the design consoles and up to the loading area. We always FP Soarin for 10 am and then rider TT SR over and over for the first hour...

I've seen someone actually issued a child swap pass on the single riders line at Rockin Roller Coaster. But I have to say I don't know what advantage it gives the person who received it. The party had entered the singles line with a child too young to ride alone and it wasn't until they got to the CM inside that they realized the child could not be in the single rider line. Maybe it was for the person with the child to be able to ride with the child in another line, since the child was capable of riding, she was just not old enough to ride in the single riders line. The point of a rider switch pass is for the person waiting with a child who can't ride to rejoin someone in their party so they don't have to wait in line and ride alone while someone else waits with the child. The point of a single riders line is for guests to ride apart from the rest of their party in the hopes of boarding faster. They don't seem compatible. Is the person with the pass then permitted to go to the front of the single riders line when they return?

For EE, the single rider is a totally separate line. The entrance is next to the shop, at the end of the loading platform. If the mom uses the single rider, there's no need to get a rider swap for the dad to use single rider.

All of the single rider lines are separate, they don't merge with the regular line.

Thanks for that clarification. As I said, I am totally unfamiliar with how the single rider lines work. So all rides with single rider have a separate entrance- had no idea that's how it worked!

I say this a lot (and maybe I just do things in a different order than others or something?), but when I request a rider swap pass the CM who hands it to me has no idea what line I intend on using. This CM interaction always happens before I enter any line, be it standby, fastpass or single rider.

So, I think the first person would be able to ride through the single rider line if they wanted, and the 2nd person would enter through the FP line using the rider swap ticket.

Thanks! I just wanted to know if it was an option, therefore using that FP+ spot on something without single rider. I know single tends to move quickly. I suppose it varies whether that would be faster for each of us to use, or if getting a swap for the second person would be faster. I am just glad to know it is an option.

That's how it seemed to me as well.
