Single Parent & Strollers

Thank you for following up on your threads. I think that's helpful. :)

Other places to relax would be any of the other shows, the train, and Animation Station.

You're welcome - as a newbie, I have read some threads and although it contains great info, you want to know how things went and how things were.

Yes, my son loves trains so we've taken the trains and monorail on several occasions!

Just a little info on larger children in strollers, there is a reason for some. They are called mobility strollers for children with disabilities. I myself have one for my 10 yr old. It looked like a cross of a stroller and wheelchair. So please don't point,or laugh. They have feelings. I'm not saying this is correct for everyone, and I'm not trying to flame anyone.

I'm shocked that people would point and laugh. Just not something I see in my daily life. That's so unfortunate.

Just echoing what some have said. If you can bring your own then you have more options about using it. We had rented one at DL which was nice but when you have to walk from the park to the hotel with a tired child at night I had wished I had my own.

Hope you and your son have a great time.

This has absolutely nothing to do with strollers or anything... I just wanted to say kudos for taking your son to Disneyland, just the two of you! This is the beginning of so many incredible memories for you both. It has been just my son and I since before he was 2, and we went (much to the utter disbelief of family and friends) to WDW for our first trip when he was turning 4. In fact, he turned 4 while having breakfast up in the castle, being loved on and adored by princesses. He was pretty okay with that. :thumbsup2

He's 16 now, and we have been to WDW so many times, and cruised a bunch too, and every trip just adds to the memories that we love to recall. People still shake their heads at me, baffled at how a single parent can travel at all, much less semi-often, but it's all about the sacrifices we choose to make in our lives. The memories are worth it to me. Kids grow up SO fast -- I can still see that first trip like it was last month. Now he'll be going to college in two years, and I know our trips won't be as frequent.

We're going to Disneyland for the first time in October -- and it's a complete surprise to him. I can't WAIT. :yay: Enjoy this time and these moments with your son!!

Thanks, Gina. Yes, I look forward to many more trips with just him and I. Back home, we have our routine and regular life takes over with work, houseworkd, errands, and preschool - it's been a great experience on vacation. No worries but just how to have fun next :)

I hope to take many more annual trips with just him and I... as long as he wants to. I will surely make it hard for him to say "no" - LOL! Sounds like you have a wonderful relationship with your son.

Have fun in Disneyland! We may come back in October as well - my son is a BIG FAN of Cars. We also hope to visit other non-Disney attractions on our next trip. We shall see. I'm taking two weeks' vacation in October and coming back to Disney is one option.
