Welcome to my Trip Report! First and foremost, my Pre-Trippie introduces the characters, etc. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1815849 :cool1:

(the titles a bit squished, but I had to make it all fit!)
This truly was a trip of surprises, and my parents seemed to play the part of the Dream Team..or should I say the Dream Parents? :teeth:

A bit of Background: We go to Disney a few times a year, and were there from May 11-19.
We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside from the 11-16,
Beach Club Villas from 16-18, and Old Key West the night of the 18.

Please hold on to the haindrails and please stay clear of the doors, because this report will be moving shortly. Just remember to keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside your chair at all times, and I hope you enjoy my Trip "of a million Surprises" Report. popcorn::

Wrong date on Camera v :sad2:

(Just a warning- I took about 530 pictures, and about 75% of them were
taken from streaky monorail windows, buses/cars, or on a camera phone,
so those of you with the 'big gun' cameras, bear with me!) :rotfl:

Oooh followed your link from your PTR. Can't wait to read the rest already!
I want to know more about your parents!!! :thumbsup2

On the morning of the 11th, the house was buzzing with excitement. We were going to Disney for goodness sake! The night before I had added the movie Atonement to my iPod, to watch on the plane [amazinggg movie by the way, my new favourite] charged my iPod and phone, got a magazine packed, and the book Atonement. (Because the movie isn't enough) Now my carry on is packed, as well as my suitcase, which excitedly was filled with shorts. I was very excited to be leaving Maryland, on a count that it has a high of 50-60, and Florida is in the 80's. My neighbor and best friend Shelby stopped by that morning to say good bye. She was not the least bit thrilled that I was leaving her for 9 days. She made me a "Disney care package" which consisted of gum, mints, a note wishing me a good time, a sticker, and a button. God only knows why this child sent me a button. :rotfl2: Gotta love the Shelby! Anyways, we put the bags in the car and were off. We get about 45 seconds down the road, and mom turns into CVS. (She has a sligh obsession) We got some snacks and stuff for the trip, and only THEN did we head to Baltimore Washington International, aka, BWI. We were on time...for once... got through security smoothly, and headed towards Quiznos. We all got subs for the plane, and soon after boarded. We were sadly flying Southwest, and of course didn't get first to board. Thank goodness there were seats together by the time we got on. We got a row and got to sit together. The flight was okay until the landing, which we had to crab. (not fun!) Mason wasn't too fussy that I remember, and slept a majority of the flight. I watched like 15 minutes of my movie, and read a bit, and soon the overhead announcements: "We are starting our initial decend into Orlando" :yay: YAY. We made it!

We got off the plane, and headed towards the cool little tram thing in MCO. Magical Express took care of our bags, so we glanced the Disney store in there, and then headed to the Magical Express. We ended up having to wait over 30 minutes for a bus, so Mason (being the active boy that he is) wanted to run up and down the queue, so who had to chase him? Me! Oh how fun... :headache: Finally our bus came, and Mason watched the movie very intently.

I love the video on the bus. It gets me so excited. We were going to Port Orleans Riverside, so our stop was last. When we pull up my Aunt Liz is waiting under the drop off/pick up covered area thingy. (great terminology, right?) We greeted her, and went to the room. We were in building 24 in Alligator Bayou. Our room was nice. We actually got two connecting rooms, one for myself and abbey, and one for my aunt liz, mom, and Mason. We walked up to the front area to eat dinner. We ended up at Boatwrights. When we walked in the server person gave my mom and Aunt Liz carnations, because it was mothers day. Boatwright's was pretty good. I got the blackened catfish with grits and stewed green tomatoes. The fish was good but VERY VERY spicy. The grits soaked up the flavour of the tomatoes, which made me sad because I lovee grits. (Raised in Chal'ston SC) I ate bits and pieces of it. After dinner we dropped my mom and Mason (cranky pants) off at the room, and me and my aunt liz ad abbey got a cab to go to walmart. Let me tell you. All I talked about the whole trip was the cab driver that took us to Walmart to get groceries. His accent was AMAZING (I have a huge thing for accents, and plan on teaching myself all of them) He sounded like a young version of Arnold Swarzinager (guessing at spelling) It totally made my day! And my trip! This guy is like my hero. :rotfl2: After we got back from Walmart, we just chilled in the room and slept. (oh yes, we didnt get our luggage until almost midnight! :scared1: ) I had a really bad cough so I only slept a few hours, but overall it was a good day!

Next Up: Light's, Cameras, Mickey! (Studios)

Wooohooo! I'm so excited to read this trip report since I wasn't actually a part of this trip. :( Oh well, maybe next time.

Orlando's WalMart is crazy weird, btw.

Can't wait for more! :)

awwh Mason is ADORABLE!!!:goodvibes

oh yea try going to the Wal-Mart on a Saturday!:scared1: not pretty!

We woke up relatively early, on a count that we had plans for Primetime at 1130 or so. When we walked out to go to the bus stop I noticed that people had signed my DISer's sign! I decorated the door with a green sign and a sharpie and lots of mickey heads designating DISers to sign if they walked by. I also decorated the window with lots of different coloured mickey heads and lime green ribbon. (I'm kicking myself now for not taking pictures of it) We took a Disney bus, which took FOREVER, to the Poly, dropped Aunt Liz and Abbey off, and me and mom walked from the Poly to Shades of Green to buy me and Abbey's tickets. The walk really isn't that bad and it was nice out, so I enjoyed it.
Mason was enchanted by this lady sitting next to me on the bus.
HPIM5084.jpg

We also came across this little pond, and this sign made me laugh. Then my mom goes out to suggest I should pretend I'm jumping in or something. (oh and the sun was in my eyes, so thats why i look really weird) :rotfl:

HPIM5109.jpg

Anyways, we went into Shades of Green, got our tickets, and guess what mom remembers? She forgot her ticket in the hotel room! Now I know where I get my forgetfulness and clumsiness. ;) We TRIED calling my aunt liz at the Poly and was going to tell her to jump on a bus to Studios to check in for our ressies (it was like 1045, so we were crunching time as it was) Of course we never got a hold of Aunt Liz, so we walked back to the Poly, an 11 minute walk to be exact :upsidedow , and found them. Mom jumped on a bus- excuse me..sat and waited 45 minutes for a bus. Abbey, mason, aunt liz, and myself went out to the bus stop and were waiting for the Studios bus. 30 minutes goes and no bus! We grab a cab with a carseat and pay them 15$ for what should have been fast, free, Disney Transportation! When we get to Studios we quickly get through the back check, my green baggallini was with me of course, and grabbed a map because we weren't 100% sure where Primetime was. We figured with our luck it was in the back of the park. Lucky for us it wasn't. So we dart for Primetime, check in and wait for my mom. By the time we had checked in she is waiting for a bus to leave PORS and come to Studios. She finally gets there and we're greeted by this adorable older woman (Pat? Pam?) She was saying "Mom's in the kitchen cooking, so come sit down back here cousins" And this woman must have been in her 70's-80's! She was so cute and perky! :rotfl: :goodvibes We sit down in the back and I immediately spot what I want. The turkey club. Our waitress came and did the routine "set the table, no whining, feet off the chair, elbows off table, and im you're cousin stacey" or something. Other than the begining she wasn't very interactive. I saw some other waitresses being a lot more fun. :guilty: Oh well. The food was really good. I ended up splitting the turkey club with my mom. I finished my half and got the clean plate award. Abbey, mason, and my mom did too. Aut Liz didn't. Shame on her! (Oh! By the way did I mention we had the Dining plan? See. Told you I was forgetful) Mom then ordered dessert, and got the smores. I tried a bite. It was okay but I was too full for dessert. After all, I was in the clean plate club.

After we left Primetime we headed over to Toy Story Mania. We rode that with no wait, and let me tell you.. the queue is adorable. I could have spent all day just looking at the Chutes and Ladders on the wall, or maybe the life-size Lincoln log cabin! :cloud9: I really liked the ride, and didn't wear the 3-D glasses. I am NOT a 3-D person at all. I won't even wear them on Philharmagic. :headache: :glasses:
HPIM5114.jpg

Mason sat between me and my mom because you can't have kids on your lap on the ride. He just kind of stared at the 'screens' and the rest of the ride like "where on earth have you taken me?!" He didn't seem to mind it though, and as amazing as it was, he wasn't squirmy! After Toy Story we headed over to Star Tours. Squee! I was so excited for my picture of me on the speeder, and Tattoine Traders. There was a 10 or so minute wait, and I was taking in the detail of the big Starspeeder 3,000 and all the droids in the queue. I'd never really taken in a count how neat that queue is. We rode, and I loved it, as usual. When we got to Tattoine Traders I was very dissapointed to see shirts with a picture of Darth saying "Who's your daddy?" and cartoon-ey Yoda shirts saying "Try not. Do or do not. There is no try." :sad2: This is serious stuff people! But then again this is coming from the girl who bought Star Wars PEZ dispensers while she was there, but more on that later! :rotfl:I didn't buy anything there like I had wanted to, because it was all so tacky.
HPIM5120.jpg

After that we headed over to Rock'n'roller coaster. I dragged my 9 year old sister on it, who is 1000 times more the dare devil than I am, and my Aunt Liz on it. Both liked it a lot. I love the ride, so it was nothing new to me. We got off the ride and although the picture is of my sister almost in tears, she screams "LETS GO AGAIN!" So what do we ride twice just after eating? You guess it. RNRC. Oh well, at least she got to try something new. She tried to get me or Aunt liz to ride TOT with her but we both said NO WAY JOSE!
HPIM5130.jpg

After that we left Studios and went back to the resort. Granted it took us an hour, because there were no buses. When we get back to the room mom hops online and what does she do? Rents a car. :rotfl2: As you can see, this is why my report was changed from "Marooned with Mickey" to "Trip of surprises" although we havent gotten to the surprsises yet! This was going to be our first trip without our own vehicle, and we didn't last 24 hours. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: How spoiled are WE? Anyways, Aunt Liz goes to pick up the rental car, and me and my sister swim. My mom and Mason got in for a bit, but he got really cold, so they got out quickly. Once we were through swimming we went back to the room and slepttt. That night I actually slept good, thank goodness because we had Magic Kingdom tommorow!

Next up: Mason loves Hall of Presidents, and wait- wheres Jenny?!

Mason LOVED it. He got a little overstimulated at times, and the heat didn't thrill him, but overall he had tons of fun.

Oooh love the update! I understand you/your family wanting a car, it's so much nicer to do stuff when you want to rather than rely on buses!
