Since National is not onsite at Tampa, how is Alamo?

We're flying into Tampa and renting a van. I am holding 2 reservations, Alamo is $20 less, but was going with Nat'l. because I thought it was onsite at the airport. In reading these boards, I've heard it is no longer onsite.

I'm thinking I will cancel w/National since it's more money, but was wondering how it is as a car rental agency. I've always rented from National. Any comments.

I can't answer your question, but I have a question for you. I'm arriving at Tampa Int'l at 11:55pm and have a reservation with National to pick up a car @ 12:30am. According to the map I have, the car rentals are located near baggage claim. Is this not true with National? If not, where are they located?

Thanks for any help you can offer!!!

They are now offsite, you will go out the baggage claim and find the bus stop for the National Shuttle. Don't worry, anyone at that works at the airport can direct you if there are not adequate signs. Tampa is not a huge airport, you will be fine.

Thanks Gail!! This is my first time to Tampa, first time renting a car and where we arrive so late, I was a little nervous!!!
