Since I couldn't get Chicago White Sox's World Series tickets, I decided to use the extra money set aside for that and add a couple days onto one of my Disney trips planned for 2006.

What I can't figure out is if I should add them on to the beginning of my Feb trip and go Feb 9-21 or add them on to the end of my December trip and go Dec 1-13.

Another idea was possible upgrading to a better room and keeping the dates the same.

What do you guys think?

How many days are you talking about and what kind of upgrade?

Well, I am sorry about the CWS tickets, I am going on Sat. but would much rather add on to our Dec. trip!!!

LvsTnk,

I really didn't think I had much of a chance to get tickets anyways, so I really am not that overly upset. I'm just proud that they made it this far and hopefully they have 4 more wins in them.

I'm just talking 2 nights longer. As of right now I'm going Feb 11-21 at AKL_Standard and Dec 1-11, 2006 split stay at WL-Standard and then Poly-Gardenview Concierge.

Oh boy, I love Disney but I'd give up my whole trip for tickets to Saturday's game if it weren't for my kids! Actually, I couldn't even buy one ticket on Stub Hub for the price of my entire trip. LOL

Minerva,

I know what you mean. I have checked with almost every ticket broker and they are asking for like $1000 a seat, which isn't going to happen.

There is a positive to all of this, I'm now down to 114 days until my trip.

$1000 is pretty cheap. I've seen prices from $5 to 9,000 which I would gladly pay if I had it. I just keep telling myself that at least I get 8 days at Disney. I'm not sure I'll convince myself that's better than a world series game that I've been waiting for for 30 years, but maybe. LOL

Minerva,

One $1500 world series ticket is the same price as my entire room cost at AKL for my Feb 11-21 trip. As much as I like the White Sox's a 3 hour game no where equals a 11d/10n stay at AKL and WDW.

Well Guys we have been season ticket holders for a while now. You could become a season ticket holder up until 11am yesterday for tickets???? He wanted to get tickets to the All Star games back a few years ago, and this year we were able to purchase a playoff package. I keep asking DH if I can stay home or one of the kids and lets just sell a ticket for some extra cash!!

But, I would probably skip the 2 extra days and either go with an upgrade to Savannah view or Concierge at AKL (you can then book the Sunrise or Sunset Safari) or Lagoon view at the Polynesian. Just my opinion, you already have 2 10day stays booked why not treat youself to an unbelievable view or Safari. I have done both and they really do add something to the stay. Have Fun :flower:

This is my kind of thread!!!!!! When I booked our trip this past summer we never once thought about the timing with the world series and now look what happened. Here is a picture of a T shirt I made for DS2 to wear while we are there. Need I say more? Go Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is sooooo cute!!!

As a Red Sox fan, let me just say this...the victory parade was worth so much more than the price of tickets to Game 1!!

I'm still living on the high of winning last year. It was just absolutely amazing and such an indescribable feeling.

Congratulations on getting there!! I will admit that I'm rooting for Houston to win it all (I have an excuse - I was born in Texas. Never even been to Chicago)...but I won't be too upset if your Sox win instead - afterall, at least it won't be the Yankees.

That is a good way to console yourself. Feeding your Disney addiction with the funds for your Sox addiction.

Looking forward to Sox-Stros!!!!! (I hope) :rolleyes1

I would definately go for more days. Disney withdrawl symptoms don't start quite as quickly. Plus how much time is actually spent in the room.

I need that shirt but it has to say Mommy. How did you do that?

I will be at Disney when the CHICAGO WHITE SOX win the World Series. I wish I had purchased season tickets for next year to get the World Series tickets.

O' the reason this thread started. I think you should upgrade your animal kingdom to savannah and then if there is money left add a day. Have Fun.

Go Sox.

I made it on Word and printed it onto transfer paper and ironed it on. Check out the T shirt thread over on the craft board...

I figure Disney will always be there. I've waited over 30 years for this and may not be around the next time the Sox make the series. At least I'll be in Disney at the same time a bunch of cub fans are. <eg>

I love that!

When the Cardinals win the NLCS and then go on to play the White Sox, they have to sweep or win in 5. I didn't even think about the World Series when I planned our vacation.

I work about 2 blocks north of Busch Stadium and the Cardinal thing is pretty big downtown St. Louis. Of course, St. Louis has to win tonight and then again tomorrow night. :goodvibes

I've been looking at the price of World Series and my wife just say "we're going to Disney, don't even think about buying tickets!".

The good part, is games 3, 4 & 5 are in St. Louis and I leave for Disney the next day. I'm trying to figure out how I can watch the game, be in Disney and enjoy the MNSSHP.

GO CARDINALS!!!!!!

We will be home for games 1&2 (which is why we tried to get tickets- no luck since they sold out in 6 minutes) we will try to watch game 4 or 5 at ESPN club since we will want to see the White Sox win the series (sorry St Louis and Houston fans but it is finally our turn!!!) We are not doing MNSSHP until the 31st when the series is over, so at least we don't have to worry about that!

The Sox will be more than happy to oblige you and win it in 5!

I would definitely upgrade to Polynesian lagoon view. Worth every penny!
