Simple EPCOT question

To anyone who has been to EPCOT recently- What's it cost to pick a pearl in Japan these days? I already have the pearl cage, so I don't need that, I'm just curious what it costs for my niece to pick an oyster for the pearl.

It is $15.96 plus tax for the pearl.

OP already has her setting, but for those reading this that need a setting, that is extra. They have rings, necklaces, bracelets, even earrings if you buy two pearls or are lucky enough to get "twins".

I would recommend though that you look at ebay if you're interested in the carriage, because it's the same quality, but a LOT cheaper.

They also sell a "kit" that comes with a simple cheap chain and "cage" style pendant for your pearl...but they oyster is in a can. I think it's $25, but don't quote me on that.

The reason I mention this, however, is that it's a fun souvenir to take home for family and friends. I did it one Christmas, and the kid's mom and grandmother adored it, and watching them open their oysters and dig out the pearls was hilarious.

I also bought a cage prior to my visit and my pearl was TOO big for the cage.

While I was there I bought a setting for the pearl and had to put a pearl colored bead into the cage when I got home.

I just returned from my trip last week. I did pick a Pearl and it was do much fun. I got twin pearls. I bought a ring to put them on and end up spending 90.00 all together.

the PP's price is correct...we just did this in April to make my "official" engagement ring!

there's a setting with two pearls, and we each picked an oyster so that we'd both contribute to the ring...I joked around that I'd pull twins, and we'd end up with three pearls on a two pearl setting...and I pulled twins! So instead of splitting up the twins, I used them both for the ring, and we're going to add the third pearl to two I have from my parents' honeymoon to make into a bracelet :]

My Mom and I picked a pearl a piece for mother's day and got matching pearl cages. Yes, everything is extra; the cage, the necklace, even the little gift boxes they put them in. It was indeed worth it, the experience was fun! I had planned ahead and knew I needed to bring the necklaces, but I wanted to buy a cage there, based on the size of pearls we picked. It worked out well.

Also, always remember to keep the little bag/receipt the pearl comes with to show that you did get it from there if you ever need or want to take it back in, save up for earrings, etc...

Sorry to jump in here, but I wanted to ask if you know what the rings cost? When we were there a few weeks ago there were so many people around the counter that I took a quick look at the rings and the cheapest one I saw was $199. I'm going to smack myself if they had cheaper ones!!

The one I got is Sterling silver and was about 70.00. I can't find the receipt so I don't know exactly. They did have real gold and white gold rings but they were much more. I was trying to post a pic but I can't figure out how. Lol!

Oh this sounds like fun! I would love to pull twins and have them set as earrings. And they would make such a cute souvenier!


As you might be able to tell I'm drooling a little.


By chance does anyone know what the earring settings would cost? Or is it better to get online?
