Simba's clubhouse?

Has anyone used Simba's clubhouse at AKL? We are staying ther in May, Dh and I would love a night out to our self's. I've never left my kids with someone I don't know. They are 6 and 8. What do they do? Do they just sit and play video game?

We used Simbas in Oct for DDs 6 & 9 and DS 12. They loved it! They also love the Neverland Club at Poly. DS did play video games but he was on vacation and having a blast, no harm done. The girls did art projects and played games with the counselors. They met 2 other girls from Scotland and really had a great time. We stayed at AKL for dinner at Jikko so we had no worries. It was so great that they begged to go back the next night but we already had plans.

I would not hesitate to give it a try.

They have lots of "hands-on" toys (like legos and bristle blocks), video games, videos, arts and crafty stuff. Its a sanity-saver to have those clubs and my kids thought that Simbas (and the Neverland Club at the Poly) were a highlight of our trips last year.

In fact, the main thing they liked was that it wasn't really "programmed" in the sense that they HAD to do something. I had a BAD experience at Disneyland's Grand Californian (Pinocchio's) recently because it was so structured and after a day of standing in line and doing what they were told, the kids just didn't want to play the CMs way. And the CMs complained about my kids not wanting to do the programmed singing they had scheduled. Not fun after a day in the parks.

So two thumbs for WDW's clubs and thumb down for DLR's club.

My children are the exact same ages and we will be using this service in April! I have read wonderful reviews. Just google Simba's Cub house and tons will come up. I will come back and post for you though when we get back!
