Has anyone ever been to Silver Springs? Any reviews? Is it worth gonig to?
Thanks!

I'm interested as well.
We're planning on shooting up there for 1 day during our January trip.

Silver Springs is a wonderful, relaxing park. Lots of exhibits and shows focusing on the central Florida environment, and the animals who live here. Don't miss the glas bottom boat ride. Sometimes in thw winter you can even see manatees. Also, most Saturdays there are country music concerts.

Just be an FYI.......the last time we went to SIlver Springs they were closed on certain days of the week so I would make sure and call ahead! :sunny: We really enjoyed Silver Springs as it's a nice pace from all the WDW parks etc. :)

We love Silver Springs, it's a great way to see "natural" Florida. It's a very laid back, relaxing park with beautiful scenery.

We also enjoyed Silver Springs. As the other posters have said, it is so relaxing as compared to the other theme parks. We've been twice and it wasn't crowded at all either time. There are several different boat rides you can go on. We had to wait about 10 - 15 minutes to get on one and that was the longest line-up we had to wait in. One word of warning though - they do not let you take small coolers in, so if you don't want to pay through the teeth for a drink, get one of those bottle holders you can slip through your belt loop or around your neck and take in your own water. We had a small, 6 can cooler in the bottom rack of the stroller and were made to take it back to our car. But we did see several people with the bottle holders carrying their water bottles.

Thanks for all the information. We loved this place when we visited it 20+ years ago, I'm glad it's still a gem.

Bobbi :)

would you believe I just brought a ticket for it...

it has been years since I have been there. one of the first trips with DVC we stayed in Ocala Saturday night - so sunday morning we went to Silver springs.

I haven't been in years and I loved it....

so thanks for getting me to remember how much I enjoyed it.

We loved it. Be sure to take all the boat tours. There is a lot to see on land too. I used to watch Sea Hunt with Mike Nelson. They filmed a lot of the underwater scenes there. Also they filmed some scenes for James Bond movies and the props are still underwater.

We went on a cold day and you could see the alligators laying on the bottom.

Thanks for all the replies. I've convinced my DH to go -- hurray! Looking forward to being there in a couple of weeks.
