Just trying to get some ideas here. Is the silver plan worth the extra 1200 dollars for a 10 day stay?? I am looking up prices and it seems that the premium annual passport is somewhat better then the ultimate park pass. Can anyone just throw some opinions my way...would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I can't much advice on the annual passes, but can give a little on the Silver Plan. First of all, think about some of the things you'll want to do while you're there - expensive restaurants, tours, dinner shows, spa treatments, cirque, etc. Price them out, and compare that price to their silver plan price. Each wish costs roughly $34, so depending on whether the particular thing is one wish or two, you can decide whether the plan is good for you. Also, think about splitting your 10 day stay up into two separate reservations, and adding the Silver Plan to only one half of the stay. This may save you some money, because you won't have to use wishes for things you don't really want. We did this and it worked really well for us. Here's how our savings worked out:

Hoop Dee Doo Revue -
* Price per adult $49 before tax and tip
* One wish - $34
* Savings per adult about $20

Spirit of Aloha Luau -
* Price per adult $49 before tax and tip
* One wish - $34
* Savings per adult about $20

Keys to the Kingdom Tour (includes lunch) -
* Price per adult $58 before tax
* One wish - $34
* Savings per adult about $30 (plus lunch cost)

Hidden Treasures Tour -
* Price per adult $58 before tax
* One wish - $34
* Savings per adult about $30

Cirque du Soleil -
* Price per adult $79 before tax
* Two wishes - $68
* Savings per adult about $15

Total savings per adult about $115

Deciding if the Silver Plan will work for you truly takes some planning and pencil pushing. The things that we did will obviously save a lot. Meals sometimes will save a lot, depending on how much you eat. Buffets won't save anything.

Also keep in mind, if you have children in your party, even though their wishes cost less, they are pooled together with all the other wishes, and can be used by anyone. So, for instance, it would be beneficial to use most of the wishes for meals on adults rather than children, since you're likely to save more. There's definitely lots to think about... so start planning what you want to use the wishes for, and see how the money works out.

thank you for your great insight into this confusing world. I still dont understand what these wishes are and how they are used. Can explain it further when you get a chance. Thanks.

With the Silver plan, you pay $68 per adult per night (2004 rates) and get 2 Magical Wishes per night. So if there are 2 of you, and you are staying 10 nights, you will have 2 wishes x 2 people x 10 nights = 40 wishes to spend. Each wish is worth $34 ($68/2). In this example you would be paying $1360 for the Silver plan add-on.

These can be spent on meals, recreation, tours, shows, etc.

You can spend them in any manner you choose, you don't need to spend a certain number per day.

If you don't spend them all by the end of your trip, you do not get any money back.

The question that I always ask myself is "can I spend/eat/play enough to get the value of my wishes? Can my wife and I eat $136 worth of food per night, or use that much on tours or recreation or shows?" and while we are off doing a tour or boating/sailing etc, didn't we pay for park tickets that aren't being used while we are doing non-park activities?

Hey, good info. DW, DD and I are going down in November and are using the Silver Plan. We are also trying to use the wishes to get the best 'bang' for our buck. We have reservations at HDD, so we are getting that savings, we are using a couple for the 'Fantasmic Dinner Package' with Dining at MM ( I think we are breaking even on that one). There are also certain Spa services at the GF or SSR that you can use your wishes for. I do have a question about the tours that were mentioned, where can I find info on these and are they good for a 2 1/2 yr old.

Thanks in advance.
