I called disney dining and they did not know the answer!

My question is: If I go to, lets say, Brown Derby/Fantasmic pkg. and I use wishes for myself and DH, can I NOT use wishes for the kids? Or do I need to use wishes for all 4 of us? Disney Dining said that the individual restaurants may remove 2 wishes from the bill but they would probably take off the kids meals. Hmmm... that is not a good deal!! I would rather pay the $9.99 x2 kids and use wishes for my DH and myself at $39.99 each. Does anyone know what I am talking about and do they know the answer?

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

Sounds like you planning to do what I am. My AAA agent suggested this idea to me and thats why I went with the silver. She said the wishes are pooled together and it doesnt matter who uses them. We plan on using the wishes on the adults and pay for the kids meals.

If you go before me (I will be at WDW the wek of July 19), please pass along info. if this can be done and vise versus.

Thanks, Southern4sure

Not long ago, we did the Silver Plan on our trip. Don't waste the wishes on your kids. All the wishes for your party get grouped together so it makes no difference if they are for an adult of child. When you pay for your meal just advise them that you plan on paying cash for the childrens meals. They are fine with this and sometimes they even recommend it.

So, if you have two kids for 7 nights, then that's 28 wishes to use up not on the kids meals. How can you do that if you're already using your own wishes to pay for your own meals? I could figure out how to eke out a few, like maybe a water mouse or two, a trip to the child care club at the resort, but 28 is a lot. I think I'd be stressed about using them all. Advice welcomed.

We are using 8 wishes to go see Cirque du Soleil......That is diffinently worth it. You could take your kids to one of the kids programs...each child can be there for up to 6 hours for 1 wish each......then you and your husband could have a date.....go to one of the really nice restaurants that use 2 wishes. I would do that...but my oldest is 14.....the programs only go up to 12 yr.

The year we had the silver package, they offered merchandise that you could use wishes for. That year you could get a framed Donald Duck lithograph at MGM where they sell WDCC pieces and framed art.For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the place is but it's next to Playhouse Disney and the theater where they show short film about Walt Disney. There are also some meals that are worth using wishes for the kids such as Hoop Dee Doo Review. Does anyone in your family play golf? There's Fantasia Mini Golf and tee times for adults that you can wishes for as well.

Hope this helps!

We too were worried about ahving too many wishes and not enough places to use them where we could really get our money's worth. We decided to split our stay into the two separate, but continuing, reservations. The first half we added the silver plan to, and the seond half we didn't. Worked out great for us, although we didn't have to use all the wishes during the first half of the trip.

This is our experience with magical wishes.

Firstly, if you have a child age 9 and under, some restaurants REQUIRE them to order off of the childrens menu when using a wish for the meal. Some , like Rainforest, let even a child order whatever they like.

This year our boys will be 10 and 12 when we travel. I've noticed that at some of the restaurants, particularily buffets, they have a lower price for kids 11 and under.
So, technically if we eat at a buffet restaurant, our 10 yr old will be charged at the childs price, and therefore not giving us our money's worth if you consider a adult wish is about 34.00 each.

Since we are paying 68.00 a day, per person for the silver plan, even for our 10 yr old, I am being extra careful in choosing our meal locations. When booking the silver add on, a child age 10 and up is charged the 68.00 per day

But, for those of you with younger children, I would definetly say pay for their meals in cash and use the wishes elsewhere.
