Silly Question-Website Countdown

I generally like the new members website but I REALLY miss the countdown timer. I wonder why they removed it. It seems to me it would be even easier to have it there, even by default, like it is now.

Anybody else miss it except me? I know it's silly, but I really do. I wonder if they would even consider putting it back.

It never worked for me. Even though I have cookies enabled, everytime I went to the site it lost my previous entry, and I'd have to re-enter the date, etc.
