I'm sure you can still buy those cheap(ish) yellow ponchos, but can you buy ones that are a bit better quality/cuter looking at WDW, or is that it?!

The ones we bought at the entrance to Kali River Rapids last December were thick clear ones with Mickey Mouse on the back and they were big!

Apparently (not sure if this is true or not but it's what I heard) they changed the ponchos from yellow ones to see through ones after feedback from guests that in the pouring rain, it is very hard to locate your group as everyone looks the same in the yellow ones. At least in the clear ones you can still see who's under them :)

There was still lots of yellow ponchos when I was there in July!!!

Wow, that was quick - thanks both! Actually I'm not bothered about the colour, but when we went to DLP we were able to buy (and did) a much better quality poncho for my DD, as well as the standard issue one!

I know that the yellow one I bought at DLP many years ago was really thin and ripped fairly easily - have they improved at all?

The clear ones we had were very thick, certainly couldn't have ripped them easily, and they were bulky when folded indicating their thickness.

We brought clear Mickey ones last year, and they are very good quality - they are in the suitcase waiting to go back! :)

Thanks everyone - they sound fine. I'm sure my DD will prefer one to a cagoule from Milletts!!:p How much do they cost now, and do they do them in a few different sizes?

I have a universal studios one and a mickey one, I think they are great but DH always threatens to disown me when I wear them!!

We bought really cheap ones from the 192 market and when it rained all the dye came out and changed our white t shirts to a grotty yellow colour ! LOL

We have managed to get hold of some navy blue ones. They seam really good quality...... I expect we will be able to test drive them next week LOL

:teeth:
:Pinkbounc :bounce:

they sell clear ones now (i assume the yellow ones someone saw in july were on people who had saved them from prior trips)...
the clear ones are quite nice...
but we didn't save them....i tossed them in the rubbish when i was packing on our last night....i'll just buy new ones when we come back....
this is the first time i did that....for the past zillion years i've saved them, replacing them only when they tore...
but i decided that's stupid...they only cost $5 or so....why drag them around and store them.....it's easier to buy new ones...

My FIL is coming with us in November, and I have to admit I am chuckling to myself imagining him in a mickey mouse poncho!!!! I don't think I'll tell him before he goes that, if it rains, thats what he will have to wear, I think I will keep it as a surprise!! (in case he goes to Millets and buys a "proper" one and ruins my fun) hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

(Wife speaking over my shoulder.....)

Get yourself up Poundland love, you can stock up before you go on all your holiday requirements, ponchos, handheld water fans and more.........

Leaving you loads more $$$$ to spend on something that will last more than 5 minutes.

(classy, but practical. That's my wife....)
