silly question about AKL

I was just wondering... I know this sounds silly but I hate elevators, I don't mind stairs at all.. Does AKL have stairs you can use or are they locked??

Yes, you can use the stairs anywhere in the resort. They are not locked.

I'm not sure how that works, I work in a building in Toronto and the stairs are locked, I'm not the biggest fan of elevators (I know, My husband thinks its ridiculous, But I guess we can't help what we don't like)
and so on Vacation I try to choose resorts that has stairs.. I wasn't sure what it was like at AKL,

Its six floors right?

I'm not a big fan of elevators either, and use stairs whenever I can. I've used the stairs many times at AKL. The AKL has six floors, but the lobby is floor 3. I believe AKV rooms are currently on the 5th floor. I think 6th floor is concierge (and I think eventually will have some AKV rooms too?).

There are "nice" (not sure how to descibe this... they are themed like the hotel) stairs from the lobby to the second and first floors. And you can use the regular hotel like stairwells to get to the other floors.

If you don't want to use an elevator at the AKL that shouldn't be a problem.

I am currently in the process of buying a resale 26 pointer at OKW (praying FROR goes through) and after that I want to add points to either SSR or AKL, I like the extra years..


But that was the one thing about AKL I was worried about...
