Our last cruise on the Wonder in May, the stateroom host had us sign for the Castaway Club gift that was left in our room. Is this a new thing, signing for the gift? We have never signed before. And if it is new, why is it now required? Not that I mind signing, just curious.

We were on the Magic in May, we didn't sign anything, maybe is only on the Wonder?:sad2:

We were on the EBTA in May and had to sign for each of the two gifts we received (Platinum CC gift and something ordered from DCL's website).

Didn't have to sign in Feb on the Magic. I'll report back in from the Wonder in Feb 2018. :)

I didn't sign anything for my silver gifts in May, I'll report back from the Magic in September, they will be gold gifts by then.

Never signed for a gift in 10 cruises over 17 years. Random spot checks?

It seems to be hit or miss. I remember signing on our Wonder cruise in 2015, and I think we also signed on our Magic cruise in 2016. But not our recent Fantasy cruise.

I didn't have to sign for our CC gift on the Fantasy in December.

I had to sign for the gift on the Fantasy (November 2015), but did not on the other 2 cruises since becoming a Silver member (Dec 2014 and Oct 2016, both on the Magic).

Our first cruise I sent the romance for two package to our room. I signed then. That was the Wonder. Then our second, third, and fourth cruises we never signed for our Castaway gifts. That was on the dream, magic, and wonder. This last cruise was the beginning of June

We didn't sign the two times we got gifts on the Magic. We did sign for our backpack on the Wonder in Alaska.

Ok, I am wondering if maybe the CC level has something to do with it? Maybe gold and up need to sign due to nicer gifts?

And maybe for in room gifts it depends on the value?

Of course it may also be policy that you always need to sign, but not every stateroom host follows the rules?
