Signing for Castaway Club gifts

We've had to sign for our gifts both times. This was since December 2015 (when we got our first gift).

Been on 8 cruises on 3 DCL ships (last one on the Wonder just a couple of weeks ago) and never signed for CC gifts. Maybe it is the stateroom host that makes the call.

Possibly individual stateroom hosts need to get signatures, for whatever reason.

We are silver and didn't sign for the CC gift when cruising to Alaska in 2015 on the Wonder. We will be on the Fantasy this August, will report back if CC gift has to be signed off.

We are also silver and did not sign in 2015 (Alaska) but were given a card to sign this time on two separate cruises, one time when staying on the 2nd floor (on the 4th night of a 5 night cruise) and one time on the 8th floor (on the 1st or 2nd night on a 7 night cruise), Wonder both times. Maybe it is just random checks??? My spouse and I have different last names, maybe they are trying to make sure that at least one gift is deposited in each rooms and not one per person. :confused3

Ok, I am wondering if maybe the CC level has something to do with it? Maybe gold and up need to sign due to nicer gifts?

And maybe for in room gifts it depends on the value?

Of course it may also be policy that you always need to sign, but not every stateroom host follows the rules?

I've not signed for silver, gold or platinum.

I've not signed for in-room gifts either, but we only ever order rainforest room passes.

I am not sure why it's not consistent, but I am sure if a signature is required the stateroom host would obtain one.

Possibly room host are told to try and get a signature but if they miss you more than x times then give up. If you happen to be around when they are collecting signatures they get one, if not then get on with more important work.

If you are only around the rooms during room cleaning or evening turndown, you probably aren't asked for a signature.

One time the signature card was left with the gift. We just signed it and left it for the room host to pick up later.

It was either HAL or RCCL where I'd bought myself a "treat" and they left a card in the cabin for me to sign and leave for the stateroom host to collect. I don't recall having that ever on DCL. But as someone pointed out, perhaps they do spot checks on hosts if a percentage of people claim they're not getting them?

We have been in the hallway every time we have been asked to sign, it was never left in our room for a signature.
Once we were leaving the ship on debarkation day and he asked me to sign it while he was standing at his cart.

We've signed the last couple of years (can't remember before that). Gold castaway gifts. On the Fantasy. Different staterooms/decks. Last time was January.

Pretty sure I had to sign for it on the Fantasy last summer.

We are Silver and had to sign for our gift. the water bottles, and the Halloween decorations I ordered from gifts. The signature papers were left in our room, but I didn't know what I was supposed to do with them. One day our stateroom host asked me to sign them and collected them.

It's been hit or miss for us. I know we've signed a few times, but not every cruise. That's for 10 cruises since 2014 on Magic, Wonder, and Fantasy.

Our first DCL cruise was September-October 2012, for each of the seven DCL cruises (all 4 ships) since, we have had to sign for our stateroom gift on each and every cruise, starting in June of 2013 on Disney Fantasy (our first Silver cruise).

I've had to sign, but it's pretty subtle. I suspect some people just don't remember that they had.
