Hello everyone! On my next trip I am hoping to spend some time visiting the monorail resorts. I've never been to any of them so I want to at least check them out and do some wandering. We're also hoping to do a QS lunch at one of the resorts.

Do any of you have any "must see" or "must do" at these resorts? Any quick lunch spots you like? Any great photo opts you recommend?

We don't plan on spending hours at each resort, but I want to make the most of the short time we have.

Thanks!

Contemporary is one of our must stops they have a nice gift shop and toy shop as well as chef mickeys is always a fun place to grab a bite to eat. The Polynesian is also a beautiful resort we like to stop at to eat and just look around and relax its one of our absolute favorites. The grand Floridian is very grand never eaten there but have stopped and looked around its also a beautiful resort.

Quick service lunch at the CR (Contempo Cafe) and Poly (Captain Cook's) are good, I'm not a huge fan of Gasparilla's (GF). I prefer the Poly food best of the three, but the CR has more indoor seating and better dessert. ;) Shopping is decent at all 3 resorts. Obviously Poly has more Hawaiian themed gifts and tropical stuff. GF has more upscale shopping, and the CR has mostly just the regular WDW type of gifts. If you are there at night you can see the fireworks at MK from the GF marina or Poly beach. Poly tends to be the most crowded. Have fun! :)

Sounds like you are only going to be at the resorts during the day but if you are going to be there in the evening our must do is Fireworks and electrical water parade from the poly beach. We never miss doing this. You can here the music to Wishes and they dim the lights. It's wonderful!!

We may be eating dinner at Ohana one night so I'd plan to stick around for the fireworks and water parade after.

We love to grab lunch at Captain Cooks in the Poly. Also a great way to spend some time at the CR is renting a boat from there. They have nice shps too. The GF is beautiful and we love just sitting in the lobby taking in the ambiance. :)

My family and I are definite fans of Captain Cook's at the Polynesian!! We like to order and then sit in an outdoor table by the stream and waterfalls close to the pool.

Flatbread pizzas are really good! And you get to have a Dolewhip for dessert!

Me and the kids both like stopping at the poly, walking around and eating at the quick service, dining outside... The atmosphere is nice and relaxing with the water right there..

Love the quick service at GF. Love the atmosphere ! Beautiful resort. If you have time eat lunch at GF cafe, delicious!!

Thanks everyone for their advice!! We ended up visiting the monorail resorts after spending the day at MK. It was nighttime so we didn't get the full experience, but that is OK. We wandered Poly and stopped by the giant Mickey ears as well as enjoyed the view of MK from the 4th floor and the mural. At Poly we had dinner at Kona café and took in the lobby. At GF we just got off the monorail and spent a few minutes taking in the sights, sounds and smells of GF. We were exhausted so we didn't explore much there. I just wanted to see it with my own eyes. Thanks again!!
