I agree with what is being said and I understand it.
The funny part to me is that years ago, the boards were a lot of fun, a close knit community (no real clique threads back then, everyone just joined in), and often people came very close to crossing the invisible line.
Those people were very funny, a bit naughty, but also vague. They stayed in trouble and back then the joke was 'the Big Red Button". Those posters were CLEVER. They drove the mods crazy and back then, the mods had a lot more power than todays mods.
Then came the purge, I guess, and the other board was board as a place to do those "almost crossing the line" funny posts. But, with no rules there, the board got out of control and FAST! Then the ridicule stuff started happening and it was quite shocking and very ugly. A lot of people have been very hurt there. of course, now we're all internet savvy and know that what we say can and will be used against us, so to speak. However, I think the other board is kinder today than it used to be. Either that or there are so many people posting that it is hard to keep it all straight. I do think that through the years we've all hurt each other way too much--but that is just MHO.
Anyway, with the DIS CB not the same for many posters (back then), came new DISers and I suppose those new DISers have gone through a change of posters just like the first group. And now, people are saying "It isn;t the same, it isn't the same!" No, it is not the same. For many of us, it hasn't been the same in many years but the board goes on and you roll with the punches and enjoy RL too.
Wow, wise sage words.
I cannot NAME all the people who have come and gone on this board.... or in my life. Maturity is accomplished when we roll with those punches. People come and go all the time. It's not a tragedy, it's life.
The only people I miss in my life are my relatives who have passed on. "Friends" come and go, and we must be very careful who we consider a "friend".

. There were MANY people who got caught in the crossfire of this debacle who never even posted on that site, they were innocent victims in all this, they went into threads not knowing what was going on, they ask questions about what this was all about and poof they were gone. DO NOT paint everyone with the same brush PLEASE!
