A big BIG thank you to all those who responded to my thread requesting information regarding the Toyota Sienna!

We did it!

We ordered our Toyota Sienna XLE Limited today!! Now it will take about 12 weeks for it to come in, but we are soooooo happy that we asked all of you about yours and came to a very informed and happy decision!!!

I can't believe how wonderful the sales rep was at the dealership (Michael at Fort Wayne Toyota). He was informative, and very professional. We did spend about 3 hours there talking safety features (the real PLUS for us with this vehicle) and after the test drive, etc,.....well, we had to discuss features, options etc. We got the full package and whew! We found out that we made out better than what the internet price was and we haven't even discussed our trade in yet!

Well, a big, big thank you AGAIN to everyone!
By the way, we have our next Disney vacation/cruise in 14 weeks, so 12 weeks could be cutting it close but we have faith!!!

Happy New Year to all!!!!

Congratulations! I hope those 12 weeks go by quickly (and will keep my fingers crossed that you get it before your trip)! :)

Rae,
I missed your post on the Sienna. You are gonna love it!
We love ours!

Congrats!

I picked one up today. I'd been researching and your thread was helpful. We'd outgrown my Saturn SL2 and it was having problems. I was just glad it started the last couple of days. Decided to just do it, found one dealer that a van with the options I wanted. I wanted the curtain air-bags and was able to find one with that but not more extras I didn't want. I might have done a little better waiting for a couple of weeks as there were some dealers that had some coming in but I know my car wouldn't have lasted even 2 weeks without another repair trip.

My girls love the van, they weren't much help  for me anyway. The salesman was probably glad they were along. They did not want to take my old car home.

CONGRATS RAE!!!

I'm so glad you decided to order what you really wanted....I know the 12 weeks will be long, but just think it's better than 5 years of payments on something you didnt really want.

If it's any consolation- when DH ordered his last pick-up...we had a 8 1/2 month wait!!!! By the time the truck came in, I didn't even CARE! I'm glad we waited, and didnt just take a lot truck, and I'm sure you will be too.

congrats again Rae, on a super safe super cool van (this coming from a soccer mom who drives a lifted SUV!)....

YEAH!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

thanks all - again it is the DISNEY PEOPLE here on line that read and reply to our threads that make these purchases so successful.

I had posted one previously about the handheld games for kids (ended up with a Game Boy Advance SP) for Michael with very good PG (non violent) rated games. Again, hats off to those who wrote me and advised me on this purchase.

I went with Aspen Green Pearl with sand leather interior. We got the "whole enchilada" with this vehicle (Package #6 - HO. And although there are a great number of accessories (alloy wheel locks, DPS hitch, cargo tray, cargo carrier, hood protector,, etc), - we opted for the auto dimming rearview mirror - it was the only accessory that the sales rep was very excited about and highly recommended.

This will probably be the last vehicle we buy for quite a long time -as DH gets closer to RETIREMENT. (Is that a good thing or a bad thing - ahhhh, topic for another post, I think!!!!) So we wanted to get exactly what we wanted now while we have the disposable cash. PLUS we are selling off a DVC timeshare to help get the payments down!!! (Or as Tom says "trading one asset for another")

Hey, know what the blue book on our 1999 Pontiac Montana came out to be.......loaded when we bought it new at $25,000 - the trade in will be around $6,000. Okay, 76,000 miles and in good condition, but WHEW what a loss. Again, my husband has words of wisdom when he says, "That's a lot of years and miles on a vehicle." Yeah, but WHEWWWWW!!

Congratulations! It sounds beautiful. :)

The Sienna is on the top of our short list for minivans, but we're not quite ready to spend the money. And our Honda Accord only had 45k miles on it. Those things last forever, which is a little too long when you really want a new van, LOL!

We have the self dimming rear view mirror and it is so nice. Plus it has a compass and thermometer on it, so we can tell the temp outside while we are driving. When it hits about 37 degrees, it also says "ICE". I won't get another car without that rear view mirror.

Couldn't you rent out your DVC points in the meantime instead of selling it all together?

Wouldn't be a bad idea to rent but I'd hate the hassle. I did fine selling off the VWL (150 points) and am putting up 200 at HH (October use year) and 100 at VB (September) still - that will still leave us with 200 at HH - but for the van, it's worth it!!!

I just saw this thread! Congrats, you will LOVE it!! I have one! I don't think I can go back to having a vehicle without the sonar (admittedly, I am a bad parker)! And the laser cruise control is the coolest thing, but it doesn't work in the rain (took us awhile to figure that out, lol). I think it took around 9 weeks to get mine, but that was last spring. I love mine so much I always want to honk and wave at other new Sienna owners, but I'm afraid they'd think I'm nuts! :teeth:

HAHAHAH!

Had to laugh because I'm also a lousy backing up parker!!!! Why is that????????

Funny but that's correct about rain and the laser cruise control -who'd have thought of it though!!!!! I guess when it happens to you, you figure it out!!

Nine weeks last spring, ehhh? So, this isn't too bad considering they had to close the plant down in the USA to fix the gas tank problem.

Ohh, girl, I'm going to be waving my arms all over the place when I get mine - those other drivers probably understand it's the "new driver" thing to do!!!

Happy days ahead for you!

What is laser cruise control? You're not supposed to use cruise control on wet or slippery roads, I know. But what's the laser part?

Laser cruise control- a laser detects cars in front of you and will automatically slow down to their speed and if you can get over to pass them, it will detect that it can speed back up again. When it detects a car in front of you it will show a car on a little digital screen and up to 3 bars. The bars (1, 2, or 3) means how many car links they are in front of you. One time, it slowed down because of the person in front of me and then I got over after a car passed us on the left and it could tell, even though the car on the left was only 1 car link ahead at the time, was going faster than me and sped up again even though we were so close! It was cool and the guy in front of me was booking so I wasn't that close to him for too long! I believe the Sienna is the first and so far only vehicle with this feature! I'm sure it will be on all cars soon though.

Okay, 12 weeks or so til we get ours and we are only at the 11 1/2 week mark.....I'm getting anxious, folks!!!!!! AGGGHHH!!!
